        maybe it doesnt like the blank cd you have. sometimes my drives dont pick up certain cds. like how a cd player gets picky with cdrs

          that is true as well... try using a different brand CD-R...
          if all else fails.... you can't go wrong wityh Lite-On

              Well, I've thought about that but it doesn't make sense because I've been using the exact same Memorex CD-R's since I got the computer Christmas of 2004.

              Wow, that ain't bad. It seems like a really good deal except for two things:

              1. I've never heard of that brand
              2. "Pros: NONE

              Cons: Blew up the inside and my installation Cd with first 10 min of use. DONT RECOMMEND"

                nah lite-on is good, they provide oem cd-drives to a lot of big computer manufacturers
