    Car on fire...

My bro has a GSR and on his way to school this morning, his car caugfht on fire, once he got to school, they had to use an axe to get the hood open and put the fire out. Why would this happen? I feel so bad for him, he loved his car as much as I love mine!

There can be alotta factors with a car catchin fire especially under the hood maybe he had something hooked up maybe wires touched and shorted really, really bad.

Maybe something having to do with the fuel line spilling on a short catchin fire. He probably halfassed on something or he really put something connected that had no business being there oh well every gsr down means another hybrid is born peace.

      Some Pics...

We are going out tonight to strip it down and put all stock stuff back on. I guess it had something to do with the clutch, he said that 1/2 way to schooll, the clutch felt really funny.

I seriously doubt it was the clutch . BUt If i were you or him id tell him to get another motor that one is melted looks like it to me. You have to take the engine out and buy another one or salvage it and the harness someone has his work cut out for him. Any fire insurance if not :owned: :owned:

Insurance will cover it, they will only give the Kelly Blue Book Value on it before the crash, they will not cover any mods. So we are prolly just going to take all radio, muffler, header, wheels off, and then total it. KBB value is $7500, and he will prolly just go out and look for another GSR.

7500 for valve? thats soo BULL...that car is worth in the 9k range.

tell the insurance that you want more money. then go get some classified ads selling his car and his model, they usually are more...the insurance will take the average of those and give you that price. last year my friends gsr (tpham) got jacked, they gave him hella cash back, i forgot how much money but it was wayyyy more than 7500.

            sorrie to hear though.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

turbo? supercharged? did he do his own wiring?
actually, theres a lot that could start a fire. like running with no oil.

No turbo, no supercharger, just i/h/e, and the oil is good, we checked it, it was still golden brown and at correct level....

We think that there was a fuel leak

Right now my bro is sharing my sisters 91 CB7
