I'm an assistant park ranger at Jordan Lake here in central North Carolina. I do all the rangers' work for them because they're too lazy and high up on the chain of command and I only get $6.75 an hour. I get zero benefits because I'm an 11-month seasonal employee. The state makes me take a month off so they don't have to give me benifits. However, I'm seriously considering either doing Maintenance for the lake or sticking it out with the seasonal gig while I get some college under my belt and become a ranger... and carry a Glock.

Thanks for the input so far guys. The thing is, here in Tyler, most of the electronic stores are already jam packed with high schoolers. I've applied at a few electronic stores, and so far no luck. Even calling back several times didn't work. I'm probably gonna go for the delivery driver gig. I know it's up and down, but tips are what makes it worth it. Keep the suggestions coming, maybe I have left something critical out.Always remember that only you can make your dreams a reality.

Job hunting sucks. How old are you f22a4bandit? Just curious as to if your still in school or something? As for me I graduated from HS in 04. Havent had a steady job for more then 6 months since then. Have been between jobs for a while. Hate it. Looking to find something a little bit more full time. Had a few interviews including one today to be an Animal Control Officer for the City of Overland Park. So for that one I am hopeful. Keep up the search. It sucks but it will pay off. Later

I'm 20, going to UT Tyler, Junior year. Yeah, the job search sucks hard core, especially when there's 2 high schools and 3 colleges/universities in a town of 89,000 people. I'm guessing younger, more impressionable people are the ticket right now. Hope I find something soon...three months and no luck so far.Always remember that only you can make your dreams a reality.
