Sorry to hear you're so angry about this, but the US often invades countries that don't want them there. That's why its called "invading". Vietnam didn't want us there. In WW2, countries asked for our help but we refused to get involved until Japan bombed us. Our reasons for war are RARELY something that gains your trust/respect. Don't get me wrong, I didn't want war, and I don't agree with this one. But often that is the attitude towards all wars. I know people personally that are coming home from Iraq that are in wheelchairs, crutches, some are worse. That doesn't mean my opinion matters more than anyone elses.

the guys who fight and believe that what they're doing is right, congrats, they're doing their job and probably doing it well, but they aren't in charge of anything....they don't make decisions.....they wouldn't be there if they had real options.....they're usually there because they wanna travel, want a future that is positive, etc.......if they can have all those benefits and not fight, then i bet 99% of them would choose to not go to war......that 1% that wants to fight just has problems.....

fizz you're really upset over this aren't you? It's the ebb and flow of life, things go up and down, but we cannot bring back the past. All we can do is change the present. I don't think we're doomed to destroy ourselves, at least not in less than a century. Do you think everything would be better if we went back to the 40's-50's? We've progressed since then, and to be alive today really is better than to be alive 50 years ago.

It is said that what is called the 'spirit of an age' is something to which one cannot return. That this spirit gradually dissipates is due to the world's coming to an end. In the same way, a single year does not have just spring or summer. A single day, too, is the same.

For this reason, although one would like to change today's world back to the spirit of one hundred years or more ago, it cannot be done. Thus it is important to make the best out of every generation. This is the mistake of people who are attached to past generations. They have no understanding of this point.

Voting is a joke anyway. Who knows who really wins all these races. Practically in every state their were accusations of votes being torn up, thrown away, deleted from the list, not being allowed to vote because of errors, peoples votes just straight up not being counted, and both democratic and republicans were caught doing this. I'm not just talking about the president, i'm talking about practically everyone running for a politcal position. Fizzbob I totally agree with everything you just said again. I wish I was that perceptive and collected with my thoughts. I am far from democratic. I judge a man for who he is, not what party he is attached to. I thought I made that point clear. I have never even been a democrat, if you think all liberalist's are democratic then you have alot to learn about politics.The fucked up part is I use to be a republican before the war. I voted for bush in his first election. I went non partisan after the war. Actually now that I think of it I have never voted for a democrat in my life. I am glad you know alot of people in iraq, I bet that makes you feel real good about yourself. I am glad you hav'nt lost anyone to this war, maybe if you did you might see things different. I think its funny that you assumed that I have not lost anyone to this war. I bet that makes you feel special that you have and thinking that I haven't. I lost family in the 9/11 attacks as well as freinds in the war. Where do I get my information from? I research events in the news to make sure I have the facts from every point of view. I don't just rely on one source like liberal media. I have more to learn about politics you say? What... are you going to teach me? No thanks...I study politics, as well have ties with several local, state and federal politicians. So I know a lot about the game......In all honesty..I am finished arguing in this thread. Someone once said, the world isn't what 'should be'. Should be is a lie fed to us when we were young. As the architect said, "Hope, it is the quintessential human flaw, the source of your greatest strength and your greatest weakness." The world is 'what is'. However using this mindset, that there is no hope and all resistance is futile, is the wrong attitude. It seems more like laziness to say that anything we do won't change anything. There were those who said the same thing in the 60's, in the period of change. If everyone had that attitude, things truly wouldn't have changed. Keep your fists raised to the sky, and so on.

On the other hand, I understand what you're saying. It is often blamed on the over-emphasis of political correctness in our society. Polititians are elected on who does the best job not to offend anybody, by the time they've reached office, they're an empty shell, and nothing changes. Those who do try to change things are assassinated...it seems like the best thing would be to start anew. Destroy the current government and start over. But it's like the proverbial cutting off the head to cure the headache. Maybe we just need to be politically active and fight harder (or at all) for changes...

btw, fushigires, I was trying to keep it away from that. Something I've learned from Bill Maher is you can't start with "I hate Bush" and work backwards from there. You have to have legitemate (sp) reasons to start a debate, and back them up with facts, not speculation. Same goes for either side.
