trust me bro, the one thing ive been banging my head about is that...but then again, I told the guy to be straight with me....i didnt hustle him or anything, I kept my word, i wouldve expected him to do the same since he was saying he was an honest guy...

buying a used car is a bargain anyways, no matter what the condition you never know what your going to get until you get it. the seller could be completely honest yet oblivious to what is wrong with it. shit happens though, good luck with your situation.

Its funny, I looked through his thread and you see the wave on the panel underneath the rear quarter window/C-Pillar. However, yeah dont buy a car at night, thats like one of the golden rule of used cars. To repair that engine is prolly going to cost you as much as buying a new one. And blown valve seals aren't a joke. It usually is a sign of much bigger problems. I have no idea why that mechanic didn't tell you. All in all, its a tough lesson to learn. I am sorry you had to experience that.

i want to agree with you, but heres my POV on that....Ive had 5 CB's before this one, and every single one of them Ive sold telling the buyer EVERYTHING, not missing one detail. If something has happened to those cars, it either happened way over 4 months, or the owner was just a fucking retard. My last CB had a minor tranny shifting problem right about when I was about to sell it, I told the buyer about it, I fixed it before selling it, let him try it, and the car was fine. The car started having the same problem 3 months later...I gave him a TCU, and he was good to go...tranny is doing it again, and its been like 8 months...now he wants a conversion...

point is, the car didnt break down on him right away, and if it had, or even NOW if something happens to his car, he calls me, and I go by and fix it, cuz he trusts the fact that since I owned the car, I knew what there was invloved. i dont have to do that, but its just the way I am.

WTF!! Dont take that shit so easy, mofo sold you a fucking lemon. As some you guys say that it a buyer/seller fault but the damn car shouldnt stop working after 4 days. Tell dude to give you some money back for the unexpected repairs. Shit, I would've sold you my car for 3k.....dont start parting the car yet cause I think there is a law against this type of shit even tho its the buyers duty to inspect.

some of u guys are funny, but if u were the one to lose $2700 in less than a week u would be just as pissed, and please don't try to say u wouldn't. u expect to get a car that needs nothing, u spend all your lil savings just to get that lil car u liked. and then car is a menon and poeple expect u to suck it up,hell NO. take it to the next level if u can. another things, sometimes we put our trust in our own people and man like i said some of these ricans will screw anyone for money. i don't expect u to get all the money back but atleast a small amount to get a stock engine would be kewl.all i can say thank god it aint me.

If you want to go legal you may want to try TV court (im so serious too). Small claims and anything above will want documentation that you may not have. Hell, in TV court you may still need some form of shop reciept.

nelson just part out the car get rid of it,who knows WTF the dude has done to the car that you don't even know about.

                        1.part out
2.save and buy a stock cb later on (untouched) if you know what i mean.

there is absolutely nothing legally that the gentlemen who bought the lemon can do.
when buying any used car with out a warranty there is an implied "as is" clause.
all the previous owner has to do is say hey "its the new owners fault because he drove away from me in a RUNNING car" and any overlooked probs found later are tough luck because the car was sold as is.

i have a feeling the new owner will not get a cent from the old owner unless they feel bad about dicking someone over. i doubt the car was sold with the intention of it only lasting for a couple of days but thats the used car gamble.

You would need some form of documentation from a certified professional (ASE mechanic) that shows whats wrong with the car. You also would need a repair cost. That amount will be your lawsuit. Bringng the mechanic with you as a witness will help solidify your story. Having a car break down 4 days after purchase is ridiculous. I think you would have that case won with ease. Try speaking with the owner to get back a portion of your money for repairs (at least for the engine).

all right guys first of all before i sold the car i told him it was smoking. second of all the car was driving fine before he saw it and after he saw it. he test drove it, he was fine with te suspension and the smoking.<--- and about that i gave him a h23 fully done head with new valves 3 valve angle job, new seals to be fair with the guy, with a set of stock 98 accord rims polished. i did a compression test on the car with my mechanic said it was fine so the piston rings are out of the question. also he drove it all the way down from orlando to ftlauderdale about 250 miles, if the car was gonna brake down, it would have done it then. about the timing wikked and i did the delta 272 and the car ran strong if there was any lack of power then he would have felt it when he TEST DROVE IT. as of him getting money back i dont think so. the car was sold as is and to prevent problems like this i did a bill of sale that he sighned because i know is an old car and anything can happen. simple as that. the way i see it is he bought a car that was in good running condition and i dont know if he beat the hell out of it once he got down home. , as of jarhead taking SHIT about ricans. look man you dont know me so dont talk shit about me. ive never had any problems with anybody here in the cb7 family and is not gonna start now. you can ask anybody here that has seen my car before there was nothing wrong with it and the only reason why i sold it is because i got a kid on the way and needed a for door car, which i bought. and to make things more clearer he was supposed to see the car during the day so if he came over at night then whatever was not said was not my fault. so to come to a conclusion he HAD a choice to either buy the car or not. plain and simple. ill let you guys decide throughout the thread.
