    seriously id have to agree with H22 on this one, cb7 ftw!!!

    I got mine for 2750.... 93 Se fully loaded and clean as a mofo.....hasnt stranded me once yet....got ac, ps, cc, it got it all/sorry no heated mirrors/seats

    but for 2750

    + SRI Filter= 45
    Headlights=160
    redclears=100
    rims and tires= 720
    rear fog= 80
    new mirrors=150
    new plugs/wires/starter/sunroof=230

    so i basically dumped around 1485 into my cb....and its not even motor/performance so it could run a hell of a lot better but i havent gone that route yet.

    But for 4235 id say its a steal....i love it and thats it...when i think of what else id want all i can think of is a 5spd coupe black with black leather!!!!

    CB FTW!!!!

            Id second a 3 or 5 series BMW. As far as reliability goes yea there will be times when little shit goes haywire but despite what people say BMWs tend not to be that bad repair wise. Parts are a little more expensive but as long as you either know a good independent shop or do the repairs yourself you will be fine. DO NOT EVER GO IN THE DEALERSHIP. EVER. They will rape you for ever last penny you have. But anyways, they make great daily drivers and they are pretty soild. They are really good around here too. My girl has a 95 525i and she beats on it pretty hard, but its survived all 7 winters it saw pretty well. Winter tires go far on those vehicles. Just some words of advise from a BMW tech....Watch your battery and watch the balance of your tires....Good luck!

              I was wondering if someone would notice... I sure did

              But an older BMW.. in your price range, if taken care of, would run for quite a while. But to keep it running, and maintaining it is what would kill the wallet.

                I didn't take the time to read through every post so I don't know if this car has been mentioned or not. But I would say get a Subaru SVX. It has AWD, the inline six, that I believe is a flat motor. I would pick this becuase I believe Subaru makes quality vehicles, it should be pretty quick in its stock form, and shouldnt be too pricey. As far as aftermarket support im sure there is some, I've seen some turbo ones, but im not too sure if there are any stock turbos. But good luck in your search.

                Edit: So I did some research and came up with these numbers

                - 3,318 cc 3.3 liters 6 horizontal front longitudinal engine with 96.9 mm bore, 75 mm stroke, 10 compression ratio, light alloy block, light alloy head, double overhead cam and four valves per cylinder
                - Unleaded fuel
                - Fuel economy EPA highway (l/100km): 9.8
                - Multi-point injection fuel system
                - 70 liter fuel tank
                - Power: 172 kW , 230 HP @ 5,400 rpm; 228 ft lb @ 4,400 rpm

                  I know for a fact that deev has wanted an SVX in the past. im sure if he can find a clean one, he would jump on it. the only problem is . . . only auto tranny.

                    they have crazy looking windows which makes them very unique. its most certainly a rare car and one that isn't up for sale very often in clean condition. i have a feeling deev is going for some sort of relative rarity here but i could be mistaken.

                      Well, that can be fixed with enough money.

                      There's turbo 6-speed SVX's running around out there.

                          I was set on a 1st gen Miata for a few days... but a few people who's opinions matter to me talked me out of it (2200lb rwd tiny sportscar on icy mountain roads might be a bad idea).

                          e36 325i is actually at the top of my list now. ix if I can find one.
                          Maintenance costs will be a bit higher, but it'll definitely be fun to drive... and comfortable.

                              hey have you ever driven a e36 for awile? i drive my dads like 1-2times a week, i dont really like it because its got tcs that you cant disable, so you can never break the rear loose....the whole experience driving it feels fake and controlled...well because it is. get an older bmw, we have a 325ic and that is a blast. feels like a real machine. although i wouldnt reccomend a convertable
