    Radiometer

My mom bought me one of these when she went on a cruise and it's a pretty damn nifty device. I guess my grandmother had one when she was alive and used to play with it. I mean theres not much to play with but it's neat how that damn thing spins. Whenever I have my light on it spins away. Sounds neat lol.

My little random post of the day.

what is cool is when you go into home depot..and they have those radiometers on display by heatlamps... and on display 1 the radiometer spinning because there is a piece of brand x glass in between the light source heat..and radiometer

display 2 shows the glass you can install on your house that will block heat radiation from entering your house... so the radiometer is not spinning.. i was like waht if they are rigged and i switched the radiometers around and they moved whenever they were on display 1 but not 2 so the glass that stopped the heat was real

i always wanted to get that glass on my house to block heat out... keep the electric bill down...

reminds me of the displays in automotive shops, the kn filter one, or the oil on the gears one

Ah yes. I wish I knew were mine was. Got it at the Museum of Science many years ago.
Interesting to watch it move with nothing pyshical to turn it.

And I remeber one of those Lucas oil gear displays, were the grommet on the Lucas side was swollen and F'd, so the Lucas turned harder. I thought it funny, cause its expensive goo.
