    No more cb7 :(

Well.. the buyer for my car showed up a lil while ago and I just watched as the best car I've ever owned was driven away. Even though I got more for it than I was expecting still feels kinda wierd. I am gonna be car-less for a month and half or so until my "new" car gets here from Japan. The guy who bought it was really happy though.. he even got a free Honda Motorsports hat lol. Just thought I would share my story.. feels wierd to be cb7less

mm and by the way, that galant is a fucking sweet car. you dont really see many of them in these parts, people are attached to their nissans. i would love to bring in an early evolution and race the piss out of it. oh well no matter how long you wait, that car is gonna be worth it.

Yeah good point. The funny part is when I bought my cb a little over 3 years ago, I had a 4 door phobia. Like seriously, All I wanted was a 2dr car with a manual transmission. The fact that I got over the how it had 4doors I gained some maturity in regards to cars. Considering my original intention was to import a BB Prelude or Celica GT4 I made a very good choice with the GVR4. In terms of the import timeline my understanding was 1-4 months to leave japan, 1.5months being average. From there it took a few more weeks to clear customs & be shipped to your door. We will see though. AWD + Viscous LSD + 240ps/31 kg*m = one hell of a car.

if anyone wants specs on my VR-4 check out this link.

not quite, but close. this is what my car will look like, but black + stock rims. mine is e39a (non-rs) and w/o the rusty looking engine bay

notice the VENTS on the hood not present in the usdm one, shorter front bumper, overall better look. also an extra vent towards the bottom of the bumper.

                              info on "evo" vr4s

                              Post from vr4 forums – oz/nz?
These "VR4 Evolutions", also commonly known in NZ as an Evo 0, DO exist. They are everywhere over here. Typically you pass one on at least every few days. They aren't as common here as the normal VR4, which would probably see several per day, but they are still quite common none the less.

The specs have been posted above, i think by JStyle. They are literally, the Evo1 spec'd engine, and evo1 spec'd drive train. entirely. 510cc injectors, small 16g turbo, e1 ecu, i believe different cams, still got the vr4 head and matching intake manifold, and vr4 block tho, but got the 3909 ratio diffs, got both steel selectors on g/box (or maybe just 1, i forget - blew that one a long time ago ) Umm, they have vented bonnets - see my pics, the bumper has a little extra slit vent at the bottom (not in my pics, i sold mine), umm, bigger i/c (e1 size), 4-bolt factory rear. umm, can't remember what else.

                              Post from MLR
Just seen this thread, and I am familiar with the 'Galant Evo 0', but they are not called Evolution by Mitsubishi, this is a slang name to help identify them from normal VR4s. The most notable difference between the VR4 and the VR4 EVO is the turbo. A td05 14b in the VR4 and a td05 16g in the VR4 EVO. This resulted in the VR4 EVO having 240bhp and the VR4 having 190bhp.

There are 5 JDM factory variants (that I know about) of the VR4 made between 88 and 92 the chassis numbers are as follows:
                              1. VR4 (14b turbo) : E39A
                              2. VR4 RS (14b turbo) : sorry don't know the chassis number for these ones
                              3. VR4 (16g turbo) : E39A-1
                              4. VR4 RS (16g turbo) : E38A
                              5. VR4 Automatic (td04 13g turbo) : E39A

The cars with a 16g turbo have the following differences to the 14b cars (there are more, but I don't know them all)

                              1. The injectors in the 16g have yellow 510cc injectors and a 14b has blue or sometimes white 450cc ones.
                              2. The intake manifold on the 16g will have 'eci multi' written on it whereas a 14b will have 'cyclone'.
                              3. The intercooler is larger (470mm wide) on the 16g
                              4. Bonnet vents on the 16g and none on the 14b
                              5. Rear diff has 4 bolts on the 16g and 3 on the 14b
                              6. Different cam profile on the 16g (apparently very similar to the evo3)
                              7. Bigger fuel pump in the 16g (sorry, don't know the capacity)

Differences between the RS and non-RS models are much the same as with the evos, black mirrors and door handles, no electrics, etc.
quote is taken from a clubvr4 post.
