if you are speeding and someone decides ( a government construction truck for example ) to get behind you and when you get to a stop light, they seem like they are writing down your license plate number. will you get a ticket by mail? please inform, im kinda sketchy on what to do when you're stopped at a stoplight but people have seen you speeding. thanks!

A cop or EP has to have first hand knowledge or enough probably cause to issue a ticket.
a state construction workers word wouldn't be enough.
If how ever it was a cop pretending to be a construction worker in some sort of sting operation (yes i have seen this happen before) then you might get a ticket. if you do you might be able to appeal it on the grounds of entrapment depending on your state law."Auto racing, bull fighting and mountain climbing are the only real sports....all others are games."

i dont think they can do anything. i used to be afraid of state trucks, but then when i worked at this state park, i realized it was just a truck with some guy like me driving it mst of the time, and i had no extra power when driving the truck. this might not apply to all autos, but i know for our state trucks it was this way. regardless, i could see people slow down at times just because i was near them, and i thought it was rather funny.2010 Taurus SHO - Livernois Goodies

i work for the city which is part of the government, and i drive the city/gov owned vehicles all day long, theres no chance in hell you can get a ticket from one of them....especially in a construction truck. worst that can happen is a bylaw officer issues you a ticket for speeding or something...
but on the side note, dont know if this applies to where you live but here, you CAN be ticketed from a random person phoning the police and saying your plate # and vehicle description. happend to a friend of mine. he was late for school, so he was speeding, later that night an officer showed up at his house saying that a civilian reported him as a dangerous driver and he was ticketed with reckless driving.
but again, if it was a construction truck, he was probably just filling out some paper work such as when he dropped off his load or when he picked something up or something along those lines.

A Violation of the Vehicle Code, is still breaking the law. Just like if someone "saw" you comitt murder... the police would not just come arrest you. They would investigate the crime... and that it was would happen for speeding, because you still have the same protections under the law. Why? Because... Life Happens @ 4500 RPM
