There are actually a couple out and they are pretty awesome. There is another one with a supra and Escort Cosworth looking for cops and then leaving them lol...it is pretty cool.

I was just thinking that too. With the black supra and the Ford RS200 playing cat and mouse? That video is THE SHIT!! That was some good driving.

What I've read the past few days about this is that the original filming was done using a Mercedes 6.9, but to give the higher impression of speed, the sounds from a Ferrari 275 GTB were piped in.

I've been told they did the same thing with the movie Bullit and using sounds from a GT40 (I guess there's no way you can replicate that gear change noise on a street gear box or something, I may be mistaken though).

On an August morning in 1978, French filmmaker Claude Lelouch mounted a gyro-stabilized camera to the bumper of a Ferrari 275 GTB and had ... all » a friend, a professional Formula 1 racer, drive at breakneck speed through the heart of Paris. The film was limited for technical reasons to 10 minutes; the course was from Porte Dauphine, through the Louvre, to the Basilica of Sacre Coeur.

No streets were closed, for Lelouch was unable to obtain a permit.

The driver completed the course in about 9 minutes, reaching nearly 140 MPH in some stretches. The footage reveals him running real red lights, nearly hitting real pedestrians, and driving the wrong way up real one-way streets.

Upon showing the film in public for the first time, Lelouch was arrested. He has never revealed the identity of the driver, and the film went underground until a DVD release a few years ago

That's what the Google write up is about...I've seen a picture of the camera on his 6.9. On his own website he confirms the 275GTB sounds were piped in.

it doesnt matter is this is a repost, cause holy fawk this is cool. was the sound really piped in? if so they did a good job some things such as the movements of the car when the driver mis-shifts still lead me to believe its somewhat authentic.. ah well. very good film.
