roof rack on a hatchback?

hey i was wondering if a roof rack like timmys or phreakish's would fit on a hatch back like my nissan. i do alot of wake surfing and i want to be able to carry my boards on the roof. but i am wondering if the hatch would hit the rack when i open it....anyone fill me in?

for like 100 bucks more you can pretty much get a new rack and accesories at this site, plus when i bought mine you got free locks and keys for all your accesories!
