yes it can if it's engines is powerful enough to drag it down the runway. so... that cancles out the the "treadmill" argument cuz "ground" is not stopping the plane.


now on a bycycile on another hand yes u can go 0 speed on land and not go anywhere as long as the wheel is spinning.

the original question wasn't asking if a plane could take off with no air flow, it was asking if it would take of on a treadmill. ... i think halfway through this people got confused and thought it was asking if a plane could take off with no air flow?

People usually have 1 of 2 problems with the question.

1) They do not understand the dynamics of an airplane and what makes it work. It is hard to make a valid assumption in this case.

2) They overthink the problem and confuse themselves.
