So yeah, I went test driving with my dad the other day because he's in the market for a good reliable car that makes awesome gas mileage but still has the get up and go. First we went to a Dodge dealership and I got to try out a Caliber. The continuously variable transmission was a very interesting experience, but it didn't really impress me (mind you my dad has the last say on HIS car, but I'm there for input). Next we went to a HONDA dealership and test drove a Fit. This car may only have around 105 hp, but man did it move! The power/weight ratio makes this car fun to drive, and it had the gearing like our beloved CB7. Of course, I'm biased towards Honda for obvious reasons, but I LOVED how the Fit handled. Finally, we went to a Scion dealer and drove a Scion xB. I didn't get in the driver's seat on this one, but it was a pretty nice ride. It had tons of space, something the Fit/Caliber couldn't possible touch. Overall, however, I would take a Fit for myself over any of the other cars. The xB just doesn't look good to me, and I don't really like the CVT of the Caliber. Anyone else test drive any of these cars, and your reaction to them?

Yeah, the room is a big deal for my family. The shortest person in the family is my mom, and she's 5'10". My sister is 6'3", dad 6'1", and I'm 6'. But yeah, the VVT-i could be felt in the xB as well. It's not a bad car, the body style grew on me a bit when I was in it so I'll support my dad if he chooses that car, it's more practical anyway.Always remember that only you can make your dreams a reality.

my buddy has an Xb and ive driven it alot. its a nice roomy car, you have to ignore the box jokes from everyone, put a decent set of wheels on there and dynamat the interior lol. The fit is awesome as well. For the price i dont think you can beat the Xb though, especially the new Release Series 3.0 which has monitors already in the headrest. The Calibur at first i thought was nice but the rear end is ugly imo, and i heard that the interior feels cheap. just what i HEARD though, never been in one of those.
*edit* heres the link:Scion xB RS 3.0
not bad, envy green is kinda hard to get used to, but color matched grill, rear spoiler and Alpine dvd plus 7" headrest monitors? if youre getting an xb this is the one to get IMOLast edited by '93accordse; 08-08-2006, 04:18 PM.
