I don't know if anyone has thrown this idea around or even strated a thread, but has anyone given thought or attempted a meet for as many cb7tuner.com memebers as possible?? I'm talking a nationwide meet...not to be biast since i'm in the midwest but just as a rough sketch...we find the exact center tof the country, and someone close to or in that area scouts a meet site, and then we pick a date probably a 6-8 months out and whoever can make it--make it. road trip it, whatever. Just a rough idea, let me know what you guys think.

We've done that this year and last year already... not really nationwide, but people from MI and FL made it... One in TN, the other in NC. Something in the center of the country would be cool, but it's hard for people to make a 3 day trip just for a meet. I didn't even drive the 8 hours to NC for the last one!

It wont happen.

After being part in setting up quite a few meets (Nashville 05, Orlando 05, and NC 06), the turnout will never be that great. It is hard enough to just get people to drive 5 hours let alone 12+ one way. Not to mention, its quite expensive to make a trip like that after you figure time off work, gas, food, etc.

Thats why the regional and east/west coast meets are as big as they will get. One other thing that kills the meets are the fact that after people spend so much time trying to organize a meet, then you have people that want to plan their meet within a week or two of the one that is supposed to be huge, which makes people not want to drive since there is going to be one local to them a week later.

But its a nice idea.

edit: and IMO, the Nashville meet was most likely one of the best. NC would have topped it, but the rain drove away plenty of people, and then due to technical difficulties, quite a few missed the actual meet. I guess there always may be a next year. If I still have the car, i'll be up for it. (only if I dont have a full time vibration to deal with).

oh okay...like i said it was just a thought i had.....i guess that is true..i know a drive from here to NY is like 20=hrs so i guess i can see the reason not to do it..just thought it'd be a sweet idea to get the cb's of america to unite..lol. but i guess thats what the net is for lol

yeah gas prices are a killer lol. but don't worry u can always fill it up in NJ lmao.
but if there is gona be a meeting that big the someone has to find a spot and a garage just in case it rains.
many people are scared that they cars cant make it that far. but after seeing when people did for cpmike on the maryland meeting, the i am willing to drive 12 hours without worries of getting stuck somewhere.

the NC meet sucked balls. becuase of the rain but other than that it was sweet. i want to try to get one in pigeon forge tn or something like that next year. just make sure it don't rain pray to the rain gods.lol

has there even been a midwest meet? no, Saint Louis doesnt count. Im talking SD, MN, IA, ect.

Kewl .. a CB7 Woodstock!

This is actually a pretty kewl idea .. and I like the idea that yeamans17 came up with.
You know .. we could even maybe/perhaps/sorta/kina find a sponser or 2 or 3 ..
When I used to hold surfing contests in Hawaii .. sponsers jumped at the chance
to throw donations or *product* our way ... Ok ok .. maybe not out in the middle of
*Hicksville* .. err .. I mean Osbourne, Kansas .. but somewhere perhaps closer to where
there are small/minor Holiday Inn's .. or the like .. annnnd .. they dont have to *give away*
rooms .. they can be encouraged to perhaps give some sorta huge discount .. BUT
we gotta hit um when their *slow time* is happening .. annnd .. we cant trash shit ..lol.

If we could get a radio station to give us air-time .. we might be able to get a dealership
somewhere close that would see this as a positive, and they might also lend a hand
in some respect ..

When we ran the meets in Hawaii .. we ended up literally having money left over
to eat with .. after buying trophies and whatever .. lol .. you might be suprised
to find out just who would be interested in having something like this take place ..
but again .. it's gotta be *worth* their time .. and they have to have a vested interest.

Magazines need copy .. radio needs news .. dealerships love old cars that make
trips across the nation .. etc .. etc ..

i dunno .. sounds like if it was planned right .. and we knew some people who
knew some other people, that know other folks .. that know ... you know?

So then ... who knows who here ? lol ..
This could be very interesting .. look at Daytona Beach man .. they've held the
Harley Bike thing for years down here .. and those dudes come from every corner
of the Country .. and I mean every corner of this Country ..

It can be done .. but it's gonna take a lil sacrificing by some members, and from others
perhaps alot of work .. and yet, for other members .. maybe both ..

Are you guy's that live near the epicenter of something this big, up to the task?
Cause you'll be the one's who are gonna be called *headquarters* .. and you're gonna be
a damn busy bunch a folks .. and so will your parents, bosses and girlfriends ..

Mega achievements like this are only done by mega people with mega talent, and know how.
This is work for the one's who will be *in charge*.. those people are gonna be busy!

Hell .. I wasn't even that involved with our Orlando meet last year .. and I really
busted my ass in not only the kitchen .. but on the comp .. and on the fone ..
and a flat tire with t-minus 5 min .. threw a wrench in the whole salad .. sooo

If this can be done .. we're gonna need folks in the epicenter .. to be responsible,
reliable, educated .. fast on their feet .. quick with their thinking .. and all out creative.

So then .. who's up for the task?

Osbourne KS probably is a farm..outside of lawrence and wichita(maybe topeka) i dont know of anything other than KC..

To find a garage thats damn near abandoned during the day...that might be a bit hard to find
