I bought a DS for my wife last November and we play the hell outta it. Between the Nintendogs, the Zoo Tycoon, Brain Age, and Animal Crossing we're always trying to one-up each other. I've played the demo of MarioKart and its fun to say the least.

One of the best $100 (used) we've spent in a while. Now that the DS Lite is out we want to pick one up to really compete (so I can kick her ass and she knows it). Besides, with two DSs you can unlock stuff that you can't with just one.

Fun stuff. We chose the DS over the PSP and are rather pleased.

the maxmedia card is what boots the flashcart. you can do without one, but you will need to flash your ds... and if you fuck up, youll brick it.

if you have a dslite, you can get the ez4 lite, instead of the m3/supercard... its smaller so it sits flush with the smaller cased dslite. and instead of minisd, it takes transflash cards.

Its not that hard to flash your DS with flashme, I've done it on a few and not failed.

                for gameboy advance games...

www.gbxemu.com not sure if this is still up and running but it should be.

they sell these 512 mb cartridges where u can download gameboy-gameboy advance roms onto it and play it in your gameboy advance.

can also be used to store music and movies.

as for ds games.... no idea.

WHAT?! You didn't spend the extra 20 for a DS Lite?! Shame on you.

                  Good purchase nonetheless.

I'm gonna buy the DS Lite as soon as I can find one locally. As far as the hacks, how can they benefit?

Maybe I'm just being really dense here, but it seems like you have to buy a media card reader from one place, and a boot loader from another? And it seems like the media readers are all designed for GBA and just happen to work with the SP because it is backward compatible? Are there any that come together with everything you need, where you don't have to flash the DS at all, and that are made specifically for the DS? If I'm just beeing thick-headed, just post up the little guy smashing his head into the wall, and point my sorry self in the right direction. I don't usually have a problem figuring out this kind of stuff.
