.......WELL! o.k. thanks to souldoubt and my Philosophy teacher.....for having endless questions running threw my head.........and the fact that most of these questions are very old and have been said and debated over and over for years..........which still leaves us confuse and seeking the truth......we sometimes give up and we sometimes don't.........WELL! here is something for ya'll guys to answer.........YES YOU CAN QUOTE FAMOUS PHILOSOPHERS....but its really your answer.......what the answer says about you and how you see it/yourself........I enjoyed the debate that we had in class and was wondering what do ya'll think about the question......I’m just share'n with everybody.....if you don't want to post than that’s o.k. but don't post negative stuff.....keep it friendly............enjoy.......let the discussion begin.......

How about this idea:

We are here as a gambling experiment. We were basically planted here by other beings who are of a much older race of people. They are far beyond our knowlege and technology. They love to gamble though, and we are a hugh game to them.

The aspects of our lives and society provides endless things to wager on.
The biggest one being, will we destoy our own race?
On a smaller scale, they could bet on whether individuals will make certain decisions in life, such as successfully overcomming an addiction.

Etc Etc.

Not that I believe any of this. But it is a possibility.

I'm not docking or flaming, but Azul how old are you? Just curious, b/c most of these people on here that start these types of threads to flame the younger crowd and/or basically express their supposed "superiority" in years.
To sum up my outlook, basically I am 18 years old, and about to leave for a mission for my church for two years. My outlook is much the same as According2Aaron's outlook and I see God as the way and the path to walk.
Having only been a religious person for four years, I can honestly say I have walked the darkest paths that a person can, and that I have now begun to walk those paths that are the paths that most people would call "unfun" or "stupid" to quote co-workers and friends.
I precariously express this opinion online, and only because it intrigues me that there is such an inherent repetition of religious and/or philosophical perspectives on the Off Topic thread section. I do not intend to offend anyone here, and hope that my comments will merely help Azul with her paper.
