you can convert your 1.5 to a 3.3 by getting the 2.5 retrofit mount and using the 3.3 in it's place. i don't think the 1.5 driveline will hold up.
thats sick, i thought the 2.5 was a powerful engine. that wheelie bar gives it the extra touch. i might try to get a 2.5 engine swap now since not many people will want them now. just wandering have you driven a 2.5 tmaxx cause i want to know if that is worth doing a swap?

I'd strongly recomend getting rid of it and get a motor saver. the filter material and oil use on the k&n filters isn't "thick" enough for the small motors, it won't trap the smallest of the dirt and dust particles as well. if you compare the filter oil for rc's it's super thick like motor honey, where k&n is like 20 wt oil. the filter is a combo of foam/super fine wire mesh w/ another layer of foam. while k&n is like layered paper and gause wraped in wire mesh. getting a small grain of sand in the nitro motor would be like throwing a quarter size rock in the intake of your cb. and we all no thats not good. just my hard learned lesson.

no problem, it's a hobby, you live and learn, sometimes the hard way. here's what i run. it'll cost about $15-$20, but well worth the money and you can see a gain in performance. you can get them @ most hobby shops or towerhobbies.com.
