Last night I went to see Tokyo Drift. Decent movie. The drift footage made my day. And when Tsuchiya popped on the screen I almost had a fit; the guy is my hero. I was waiting for Orido as well, but that was hoping for too much. But, after the movie, as said in another previous thread, idiocy ensued. The parking lot outside of the theater was a mosh pit of revving squealing loud cars. Myself and a bunch of other guys I met up with there waited for the mob to clear, laughing the whole time at idiots driving cavaliers accords and civics pulling e brakes and spinning out. There was even a full sized Sierra going at it. As the parking lot empties, of course the boys cant be outdone, and one by one in their rwd wonders they take off in smoke, the one thing is, that they know how to drive. One guy pulled off a few really nice slides off in a deserted corner, in a pink 240 to boot. The Soarer; what Soarer, all's I saw was smoke. Its neat watching people who know what they are doing. But, in the end the film caused more hype then what its worth. Being a friday night, it was busy, twice as many cops were out over usual numbers, and all you could hear till after midnight were sirens. One guy I know, who drove a newer awd Talon, decided to try things he was clearly incapable of. The car no longer exists. Nor does his girlfriend. Nor does one of his friends riding with him. He is in critical condition, in a comatose state, unlikely to wake up. The light standard he hit doesnt exist anymore either. He was a conservative driver. Amazing how this film spun so many people up, for what? Three dead friends? Not worth it. Sure the movie was cool to watch, but keep the bullshit off the streets. And if you feel so inclined to be a dumbass, make sure there arent any of your friends or loved ones with you. Thats all I have to say for now.

twas only a matter of time...damn that sucks. I just dont understand how its so hard for people to comprehend the outcome of a mistake on the street. Especially the motorcycle world...i work admissions for a military hospital...these young guys spend a year+ in the desert come back without a scratch, spend 10G on a bike and wrap it and there girl around a van??WTF?? I guess not everyone can have common sense.

yeah and there were prob ricey cars before FF1 but ......
jeez, I thought in the back of mind that maybe nothing would come about from it....I know I've grown and matured, but I guess I can't assume that everyone else has also...
on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

Im sorry to hear that about your friend man. It sucks to hear but people will still not learn. He was prob trying to "show off" or yea im not gonna say anymore but you get my point. I guess some people see that stuff in movies and is like hey thats cool now imma go do it on the street......Thats a no no....People need to keep in mind that this is a MOVIE....it is made for entertainment and to generate REVENUE....IF you EVER want to TRY any of these ACTS on public streets KEEP your BUDDIES/LOVED ONES out of it and DO IT YOURSELF. As mentioned its not worth it in the end. If you want to try and "stunts" or "crazy" driving as seen in the movies....DO IT WHERE THERE IS NO ONE IN SIGHT OR AROUND YOU...Doing that will basically be hurtin yourself instead of others. And in my last comment I say leave the driving in a controlled environment dont do it on the street with bystanders and innocent people. I know we all want to push the pedal at times and yes Ill admit I do it BUT if you ever do be aware of your surroundings...and keep in mind you are basically a reckless driver for those 5-10 seconds of WOT driving and the inevitable CAN happen. Oh yea wait until those inexperienced people hit the mountain roads. As I noticed your in Cali also.
