i need to look this care up....i have never seen it let alone heard of it hahha......i want a new car too lol..i want a TL shit i wish....maybe after i finish college i will have to get me a new car for graduation lol.........
play gran turismo...its like a video game car lot
the svx is supposed to be a nice ride its heavy i think...but the roof is like no other...
i say get it! the maintanence might be a bitch sometimes but they are a bit rare. My friends stepdad had one and he drove it a couple of times and loved it.. i'd call it more of a touring car then anything.. and it's not like you plan on doing much to it so reliability won't be bad, i say go for it.. and then get an sti turbo an a torque converter
But I'm still payin, so she still a ho. Why don't i just give her the money I was gonna spend on dinner, and that ho can get some groceries
There is a lady that lives right down the street from my parents that has a red one.
That thing is cherry. I have always kinda had a soft spot for those too. They were definitely ahead of their time.
There was a Metallic Blue one here in town a couple years back too. That thing was lightly modded (mostly bolt ons I think) and it was pretty sick too.
They're actually really cool! There is a small amount of aftermarket support too for suspension and minor bolt-ons. I think the wheelbase and stance is different from the WRX's so I don't think it's a direct swap for the AWD EJ20 or EJ25 setups. Plus the H-6 that comes in them is pretty damn nice. No major internal problems, but they have their share of electrical...like the damn coil packs. Interiors are VERY NICE. The ECU's even back in 91 had OBD2 plugs but still use OBD1 code which I thought was rather unique. These are another one of those cars that I enjoy working on as much as the CB's. It's not a good "practice car" but if you have a good idea of what you're doing and how it's built, then you will have no issues doing your own work to it. Other places will charge you a fortune to work on it when it's really not difficult. It's just different than the average vehicle.

they suffer from transmission problems. i was about to get one as my first car. i look them up and a lot of them have to get the tranny replaced(the one i was going to get needed a new tranny).
1) sucks to work on
2) shitty trannies
3) vibration problems/odd wind buffeting are annoying
4) gas mileage sucks
5) forget getting used parts to fix something and new isn't cheap usually....especially when related to the tranny
6) those windows are annoying.......replacement glass is EXPENSIVE
for what you'll spend on one in a year, you could have done SO much better in every area.......they're not that reliable, hard to fix when they DO break, and they do, and after the new wears off, you'll be like "wtf was i thinking"....
if you have money to burn, do it, but if you can't afford this and another car, i'd not fuck with it.....they don't sell easily
oh yeah, easy to break into, HOT cars in the summer sun, etc
....and on the 7th day, deevergote rested and called his mom.
I'm surprised I didn't post in this. Anyways one of my friends had 2 in high school...loved the first one, hated the second one. They seem kinda boring and overly complex, but cool in that "we're in the 90s, lets make a car that could come out 10 years from now" kinda way. I'd get one if I had money to burn and never planned on driving it

i used to own one had it for 2 weeks. and tranny went out. make sure they had the tranny cooler recall done and get a tranny temp guage. becuase the trannys are horriable. and DAMN expensive to replace.

You make some really good points, Fizz... I have noticed that many for sale have bad transmissions (especially in the price range I'm looking in... I don't care to spend $7000 on a 97!)
Honestly, there isn't much out there that would satisfy my want for something a little different, decently powerful, reasonably efficient, moderately priced, and not FWD.
Other cars I've considered for the same would be:
300zx NA
RX-7 NA
240sx
Old Infiniti M or Q
I'm basically looking for something in decent condition (doesn't have to be perfect). I don't want another FWD car, and I don't really need another "race" car. Something automatic would keep me from that temptation! Anything that averages around 20mpg is acceptable. I'm looking for the price to be $4000 or under if I buy it from a lot (with payment options) or $2000 or under if it's a cash deal. I want a bit of sport with a bit of luxury (which kind puts the 240 and RX7 a bit out of the picture... who wants either of those in automatic?)
My other ideas have been:
Hyundai Elantra with a 4G63t swap
Ford Escort with JDM BP-t swap
Ford Ranger with a 5.0 swap
An old VW Beetle with some sort of swap... Porsche, perhaps.
As you can see, those aren't really very user friendly... and I don't have the facilities to get into such projects (I'd have to learn as I went... so I don't want to learn on my grass driveway!)
