"whats good" means "whats up" right? so if someone says to me "whats good" and i say "the sky", that sounds like im a big religous guy and i worship the earth and all its little creatures

If someone says "whats good?" your reply could be something like this, "you know, just chilling, working my ass off, trying to make this paper" . try putting your own spin on it but just saying "nothing" as how you would reply when someone says, "wassup" is a little too dry. Try answering in phrase instead of a word.

Its all slangs dude, either you use them or dont use them because they wont get any easier. Slangs change so either you catch up or just speak modern English like it was thought in the schools.

slangs derive from culture, its different and confusing but nevertheless still culture. My ex is colombian and even when she and her friends/family are speaking spanglish they have a bunch of slangs just like we have in the english laguage. Just like most boricuas(puerto ricans) they use alot of slangs which in no way close to original spanish. People like to be creative and different hence the being "cool" so slangs are here to stay, stupid or not.
