have u ever drove a stick car wherre the shifter goes thru bumps.. u can feel it pass thru bumps as ur entering the gears?

i think all car does it.. or maybe all the one i drove..
whats the cause..one time i shift it smooth.. another time its feels like the shifter is entering a bump..

what do you mean by bumps? be more specific... smooth shifts and not so smooth?

Like notchy shifting? It's most likely due to worn internal components in the transmission, or bad cables. My shifter is somewhat notchy... it got smoother when I replaced the crap gear oil (!) that was in my tranny with some GM Synchromesh. MUCH smoother.

check if the gears and synchronizer aren't screwed up.

ive heard its normal..

it's just a spring pushing a ball bearing into a little bivet (indent) in the shifter fork. seriously dude, they all do that, thats just how they are, there is no problem with it. if it didnt do that then it would always pop out of gear.

It is not going to be completely smooth all the time. Sometimes it just does not flow like you want it too.

Nothing is more infuriating that getting locked out of gear when you're trying to shift quickly! I had some guy in a Maxima messing with me one time, and I couldn't downshift to 3rd... I got the flyby and flashers... I would've kept my lead if I could've downshifted!
