I personally think these are shitty places to live. I can talk about these places, because I've lived there.
HAVE YOU EVER LIVED IN CALIFORNIA? I don't think so, so PLEASE KEEP YOUR THOUGHTS TO YOURSELF!

Williamsvt, come out here. Trust me, you won't regret it. I don't.

Do you know what you want to emphasize in yet? Like management, finance, marketing, economics, computer info systems, accounting, technology ops, international bus, etc. ? That could break it down a little easier for you.

Different schools have better programs in certain areas than others. At Cal Poly Pomona, our CIS department is supposedly on par with Stanford's. At UCLA, their econ program is really good. But with better programs, come competition with admissions. You should try to balance reachable schools with good programs. Also, list off the pros and cons for each and it'll help out. There are so many schools in CA that there's bound to be a match somewhere

my concentration is business marketing, with a concentration in marketing communications. I was just trying to keep my options open when looking for another good business program, because with different programs could spark a new interest.

even, if i wasn't able to get into any of the schools i listed above, i would still most likely move out and go to a community college and work...i just need to get out of the NE!

thanks again guys for all the great information, its been a great help!

and i look forward to meeting you all in a year or so

If you want a really nice JuCo/Community college, go to Santa Monica College. I spent a year there... Beautiful weather all year round, girls, it's next to the beach, girls, lots of stuff surrounding the campus (the pier, 3rd St. Promenade, a quick drive from Westwood/UCLA), oh and did I mention the girls?? And it's top notch for SoCal JuCo's... highest transfer rate to UCLA and USC.

The bitch part is renting a place out there. Studio apartments go for $800 a month, 1 bedroom goes for $1100. Try to find a place in Culver City or Palms, it a lot cheaper there. Oh and try to find work in the city of Santa Monica (at a retail store, a restaurant, etc.) cuz minimum wage is $8.00.

Some of my friends from high school went to Marymount College in Ranchos Palos Verdes. It's a private JuCo that has it's own dorms. And they are focused on getting you in and out in two years. My friends easily got into USC and USD, so that's another route...

Haha Thanks Tony... I've been through 5 SoCal schools in the last 4 years so I've been around

If you need any help with your CB when you're out here, Tony's the guy to go to

We also have Ramiro, Elliot and Tim from LA as well as Jed, Gerald and the rest of the SD crew (who all just about have the H22A swap). More reason to come out to Cali

i went to sonoma, nothing to do but get drunk, seriously. it may have just been me but i did not like the teachers nor the financial aid/ office staff (literally lost my financial aid paperwork 3 times and acctually yelled at me for it?). however the campus is pretty nice and very quiet and there are some empty curvey backroads for driving like an asshole also san fran is less than an hour south and it is wine country up there so sight seeing is pretty cool.
