Trailer queen, Daily driver, or Track monster...

Honestly, I see no point in a trailer queen.... at all. If someone builds a car just to tow it around and show it off, I dunno... it offends me. Cars are machines to be driven. If you aren't going to drive your car, why even have it? If you do something to your car that makes it either un-drivable or too fragile to drive, then you just ruined it in my opinion!

A track monster is always cool... but if you have to tow your car to the track because it can't drive on the street, then it's a race vehicle, not a car. Who cares if the motor is in an Accord, Corvette, or Pinto... Why not just put it in an aluminum tube frame with a fiberglass shell? It's not a car at that point... it's a motor that's slowed down by the remnants of a car.

Daily driven cars are the real deal to me. If you can't drive your car to the show or track, I don't care to see it. A daily driven car with a few dings on it impresses me more than a car with mirrored inner fenderwells. A daily driven car that runs 11s is much more impressive to me than a 7 second car that has to be pushed through the staging lanes.

Bottom line, if you can't drive it to where you're going, it's not a car.

    Just my opinion.

I totally agree, why buy mods for a car if your not gonna use them.

do you paint a painting just to keep it from being seen? of course not, and since cars are art to me, modding one is an art, to mod and not drive is like painting and not showing.
      so yeah, i agree too.

I can understand having a trailer queen with a rare, or classic car that there arent many left of..

But if it was a common car and under 30 years old then it needs to be drove tell the tires fall off then drove even more with a new set XD
        Hi, I'm Shippo and I have a problem. I keep buying CB7's.

Of course, you can flip that argument and say that if modding a car is art, then a modified car should NOT be driven... as art should be displayed respectfully, and not nailed over the toilet.

Shippo, you've got a point about the rare car. Of course, I'd want to restore and drive that too A rare trailer queen makes more sense than a 2005 Civic though.

Show Civics make me Not to poop on Hondas, but no matter what you do to a Honda, it's still a Honda. You might as well retain the excellent daily driveability they were built with.

That's why I love seeing Ferraris getting thrashed...I can't imagine paying hundreds of thousands for a car, and never putting it to work...

Most cars should be driven if you buy it. Im not really a show car person but the people that put there money into the show category i show some respect to them. But they also like us have put there money into there cars but some people just have different preferences or they just have a lot of money to spend. O yea btw as for a show car it would be a plus if it was driven unless its for a long distance (out of state or so) then yea i would trailer it.

then i revise it saying that cars are art(modded or not), and driving them is the equivalent to showing a painting.

yeah, but thats why there arent many people that actually own them and beat on them. a brake job on an enzo costs 15,000. And I complained about the rotor over hub conversion and all new brake parts for 500! I'll never own a ferrari... just cuz its mostly the name. It does perform.. but way too high maintanence.

The only way that I would not drive a car is if it was given to me, and was going to increase in price very quickly... although I am sure I would drive it around and sell it if I cant beat on it. So yeah, trailer queens dont impress me one bit.

Track monster, IMO the only one i would want is a real track monster. No 1/4 mile nonsense. My idea of such a car is since you can buy cheap wrecked cars that arent able to be titled or driven on the road, but make great project/race cars. Much smarter to buy a car with a good frame, and a bunch of body damage if you want a race car (broken windows, stolen radio, keyed paint... flood damage). If you are going to convert it to a track warrior, then you wont need that crap.

DD is the only way to go. Any cars that I will have in my life will be driven like a rental, and made to fit me.

But proportinally, it's about the same...I mean h22sparkle has been through basically every engine config we can have on our cars...that's easily a couple times more than the worth of the car. Plus if you have a Ferarri, you have other cars, and a $15K brake job isn't a big deal...

In any case I think the whole show car thing is starting to die down anyway. Most peeps here with wild showy cars are turbo'd up or H22'd up as well, and a lot of peeps do the show car thing, and take all that stuff off and go with performance stuff anyway. Go > show

Fo sho. How can anyone truly enjoy a car when you just sit there, wax it and just stare at it wishing you could drive it. Just look at Jay Leno, with his many cars that he randomly chooses and drives everyone of them!

Another thing with me is, I don't think I'll ever own a new car for myself. I'd rather buy a used car that I like, take some money and modify it so it's better than it would be new stock. In the end, you spend less for a car you will enjoy more and can actually pay off up front! Usually cheaper insurance too.
