Figured I'd bump this back up due to importance. Deev, would it be nosy of me to ask how much this site costs to run a month. I think people would be more likely to contribute if they could see actually how much their dollar was doing. For instance if I knew my contribution would pay for a whole month, I may be more apt to do so(hypothetically). Or if you could make a stickied thread with an updated goal(you could even go back to elementary school style with the thermometer and red filler everytime we gain more funds!) then people would likely donate more because they can see their dollar in action. I would. Just a thought.

My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

if you look about 1/2 way down on the left, this we forum has a meter showing a monthly goal. i think that would be a good idea. if anything it'll guilt a few members to donate.

That's not a bad idea... Of course, I don't really want to ask for donations. I'd rather have people donate because they truly care about the board, rather than because they feel guilty, or that they HAVE to.
Of course... I certainly wouldn't mind the extra cash flow!
Having the ads back does help. Clicksor isn't quite as profitable as the Google ads, but payment is easier, and they're doing the job. Plus, customizing the Clicksor boxes was even easier than the Google ads, so they match PERFECTLY to the CB7tuner scheme (I used the same color codes the board uses). The income generated by those ads, if it keeps up, will be a GREAT help! All you guys have to do is put up with them No need to click unless something actually interests you.

But I don't think it's asking for money. You're not face-to-face confronting a person so if someone wants to give, that's up to them and it really would be based on the fact that they wanted to. Also, if we meet the goal every month people will have more pride in their site, and if not, then they'll want to help their site out because if this goes, then so does their database of CB7 information.
You could also put a fee on noob questions. For every hundred posts you have, it's an extra dollar. If some of the mods or post whores slip up, they're broke. My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

Well it was a joke. Of course it wouldn't work, CB7 would have to set up a Swiss bank account. My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!
