Truck Flipping Pics! - It's good to be alive!

I was in an accident a few days ago. My friend wrecked his truck with me in it. To give you a little back ground, he lives on 150 acres of woods and has a long dirt driveway. We always slide and drift anytime we come or go and basically just play around and push the limits of our cars and our driving skills. Well, just a warning......no matter how good you are or how good the car is, there is always that ONE time. While he was playing around on the dirt driveway, a rear tire blew out and it got real squirley and ended up smacking an electrical pole at 60 mph and flipping! YES, THOSE ARE POWER LINES RESTING ON THE TRUCK! Amazingly we both walked away from this one with no injurues! We could have gotten killed from the accident but didn't and we could have gotten killed from electrocution when climbing out of it but we didn't. I've seen much less severe accidents where people died. I know God was watching over us that day. The best way I can explain it is that this was a warning to both of us to keep our shit straight and stop playing around unnecessarily. Like I said, sliding and drifting was a daily thing on this road for many years and no cars have ever been wrecked before.....BUT THERE'S ALWAYS THAT ONE TIME! Watch your asses and try not to make the same mistake!

Yes it is good to be alive!

The truck is garbage now. It was our work truck (we sell car parts and do a lot of car work and need a truck for it) but it's totalled. It will never see a road again. We are going to pull the motor, trans, transfer case, rear diff., and some other parts and swap them over to another truck (either an 84 F-150 we have or a new truck). The motor itself is still good but a lot of other things under the hood and front motor parts (fans, pulleys, alternator, etc.)got destroyed. I'm just glad that we both walked away from this one with no injuries! The truck can be replaced.

well i think as long as you were buckled in, the biggest danger would have been the power lines, but the cabin doesn't look flatenned or nothing. good to hear y'all was fine and dandy.

I don't see how its stupidity that caused this.. Thats like saying someone who races on a track is stupid because of losing control of the car from a tire failing and hitting a wall.

Anyhow, Glad noone was hurt as it could have been alot worse at 60mph.

no its not. its like saying someone who street races is stupid. racing on a track is a lot safer, because there are guidelines and the track is usually firm and doesn't have anything that might blow out a tire on it.

how is it NOT stupidity? 60mph on a driveway thats barely wide enough for a small car, sliding and "drifting" a full size extended cab long bed truck on that drive. never mind the trees and poles. in a the work truck no less. it's stupid.
comparing redneck ridin' to race track racing is ignorance. blowing a tire in a semi-controlled environment is nothing like this.

like acclude said it could have been alot worse. if it was, heven forbid a passenger to die, a person could be in huge trouble for this act of genious.

                        glad no one's hurt.

Yeah it was stupid. I know my friend has some driving skills. I've seen him do some pretty incredible things. But, it should have never been done on the street. There is absolutely no reason to go that fast on a dirt road in the first place. Sure the tire blowing caused it, but it wouldn't have blown if we were going 10 mph or less like we should have been. We've been doing this stupid shit for many years and its amazing that it took this long for something serious to happen.

BTW, NEITHER OF US HAD SEATBELTS ON! That makes us extra lucky on top of everything!
