Yea cars are getting a little on the large side, but what really bothers me is how they have blind spots all over and cut people off because of them.

I am just saying that the space has it's advantages. I am also long legged, and although the CB7 is generally plenty spacious, there are some times that I wish I just had an extra inch or so to stretch into. Of course I am the type of person that drives until I need gas, so conceivably you are talking 5-6 hour stints. The Sentra and our 1992 Prizm and the 88 Accord don't have the trunk space of our '02.

The new SI weighs about the same as an LX four door CB7 or EX 2 door (just over 2800lbs). Keep in mind though too, all that weight isn't simply a result of size. Much of the weight increase is due to government mandated crash structure, and the fact that everybody wants a 5 star rating in all of the NHTSA's crash tests. That structure adds weight. The increased structural stiffness that people demand, adds weight. 6 Airbags add weight. 370 Watt sound systems and navigations systems add weight.

The new Accord EX V6 6MT with Navi weighs about 3300lbs which still isn't too bad considering you get 6 airbags, Dual zone automatic climate control, better leather, better stereo, etc etc etc.

A Tahoe's turning radius is smaller than an Acura TL's, so clearly size isn't the only factor in maneuverability.

Again, it doesn't bother me what your opinion is, but to some extent you are comparing apples to oranges.

A new Accord V6 will absolutely OBLIDERATE anything even resembling a stock CB7. I have seen times of 15 flat with an 06 EX V6 4-door auto with NAVI and as low as 14.5 for an 06 EX V6 4-door manual with NAVI. STOCK. I have also driven them.

My car is as fast as, if not a little more so, a 98-02 V6 to about 90, when suddenly they wake up and are gone. It is partly gearing, partly powerband, and partly drag. They weren't made to drag race. They also shift into 2nd at less than 5mph unless you floor them.

An '06 Accord just might outrun you in the hills too, although it certainly doesn't have the "buttoned down" maneuverability feeling to it. It does feel heavier by about 400lbs because it is.

A second in the quarter mile is a HUGE amount of time. The faster you go, the more valuable it is.
Ok so I was partly wrong, though I did think a stock CB7 coupe with a 5spd could run the quarter in the 16 second range.

IMO, comfort is for houses. I believe the more comfortable you are in a car the less likely you will pay attention to driving, especially on long trips. My dad rented a Grand Marquis in around 2000 and we were cruising down I-10. My dad suddenly glanced at the speedometer and noticed we were doing 90mph. You cant feel anything in those cars; you can't hear the engine, you can't feel the road, nothing.

Also I am not totally convinced airbags are the awesome safety device people think they are. Thinking about a thick plastic bag blowing up in your face when you crash- that could hurt in of itself.

I have noticed in my 96 accord that there is not a whole lot of space for anyone who wants to sit in the back seat. I never really noticed this in my 92, but im sure it was the same way.

My mom's 03 accord however has quite a bit more space in the back, which is nice if you're hauling a family around.

But personally, I would prefer a smaller car.

i dont think my friend can use a stickshift car because his feet are 5 inches wide!

but yea, my accord fits nicely in parking spots as opposed to those other boats.

I have always felt small in most cars, first thing I said when I first got into my Accord was.. "Wow, this thing is roomy!" The cars that feel about just right on size are along the lines of the Miata, AW11 MR2, Fiero, the smaller MG, Datsun 2000, Geo Metro and other kinda cars about the same size..
              Hi, I'm Shippo and I have a problem. I keep buying CB7's.

If you really drive the snot out of a 5 speed CB7 you will still be over a second behind an 06 auto. That would easily be a couple of car lengths. In less than 20 seconds. Oh yeah, that auto V6 will probably match you in gas mileage too, even though it is hauling an additional 400lbs around.

I have driven all over the country and often sit in an airplane for hours on end. I can't say that I have ever been less attentive when I was comfortable. Actually quite the opposite. It is a proven fact that comfort aids personal performance over the long term because there is less stress placed on the body, translating directly into less fatigue in a given amount of time. In a cockpit when my a** goes to sleep, I have a much harder time focusing on what I need to focus on...

People use whatever excuses they can for being bad drivers in an attempt to divert the blame away from themselves.

As far as the safety features go, they are ALL proven to save lives. Go to all of the crash safety websites if you don't believe me. Bottom line: I have seen car accidents that people have walked away unscathed from that would have been fatal in the early '80's.

Yes airbags can do damage. I would rather break several bones and have to have reconstructive facial surgery (worst case scenario) than be dead.

The CD is disappointing. It is actually shorter than a CB7 by almost a full inch, is slightly taller, and wider. Most of the width difference isn't in the passenger area, I think it is in the crash protection in the door. The wheelbase is shorter too.

My mom's '02 is only about an inch longer in wheelbase than a CB7 and is only about an inch longer overall. Yet it is much more spacious. A lot of what people percieve as extra "size" is actually a styling illusion.
