My mom had a 2001 BMW 530i. Best car I've ever driven.

the older car the more practical, as the initial cost will/should be lower. once you start looking at what routine maintenance costs, aftermarket parts, etc. and you may change your mind.

check the prices of oil changes, air filters, aftermarket brake pads, rotors, headlight replacements, etc. etc. and it's more expensive than a honda. yes, it's still a toyota, but it's pricier. trust me, i have one.

oh i know, family has two of them...like 1000 for a tune up at the local stealership.

of course id do everything myself though.

changing a turn signal light on a es300 requires removing the bumper, lol

practical and luxury usually don't mix.. unless we're talking about a Buick LeSabre

I thought the whole point of a DD was to not have to worry about it if it gets dinged up or looks bad, the main purpose being getting good gas mileage while being affordable to maintain.

this ones for me.. except with the 94-95 trim which has a different hood, lights and trunk..

maintenance is reasonable for its age and for the fact that they dont make them like they used to..

i actually plan on making my next car a 2000ish 540i 6 speed. black, decrhomed, tan interior. window tints, on some nice black mags with polish lip. no needs for mods for me, it'll already be a tight car. but this, in like 5 years or something. i'll see

practical luxurious? that seems like a contradiction in itself
