Went for a ride in my uncles car today..

Its a 91 Corvette, white, 5 spoke 18's, chipped, Borla cat back exhaust, and a k&n filter. Pretty nice car if I may say, rides half decent and doesn't make too much noise. I think it would be pushing around 350 horses, it doesn't really feel like it until you look at the speedo. Its a 4 speed auto with a shift kit, he says he misses his 5 speed Vette, but this is a bit quicker. He didn't really open it up until we turn onto the highway, even with the TCS on, the car snaps your head back. Whn the car is at speed it really doesn't feel as comfortable as a CB, but what do I know. At 150 the car is only spinning about 2200rpm, my CB would be humming along loudly at that point. A Vette really wouldn't be my first choice, but it still didn't have any dissapointments. For around 15 grand this car was a steal, even compared to new cars this thing is pretty quick. I dunno, its neat comparing two cars that are completely different that come from the same time. If only my CB had power and brakes like that thing.. lol.

Sounds good man. I've always been curious as to how those things ride. I'd get a ZR-1... 32V DOHC baby!!!!

I'm kinda sad that they didn't continue with the LT1 motor in the C5/C6...can you imagine a 6.0L NORTHSTAR 32V DOHC VVT-i Vette? Even if it was ridiculously heavy to me it would be awesome...oh well...

The LT1 is the 300HP pushrod 350 with reverse flow cooling. The ZR-1 engine was the LT-5. I wish they would have kept that Lotus 350 around...

Why? The LSX engines are sooooooo much better in my opinion. They respond twice as good to modifications and you get so much better gas mileage out of them. Mods are a little more expensive but not much. this only due to the fact that the gen III/IV engines aren't very similar to a SBC like the LT1/4 was. It really takes a lot to put an LT1 into a league any where close to a LS1. Oh and for the record...a '91 Corvette was TPI, not LT1. 1992 was though. Cheers!

I know the LS motors reign supreme, and for their size/weight they actually put a lot of DOHC engines to shame. Seriously, aluminum block OHV engines pwn as far as packaging efficiency goes. But just to have a big displacement high technology motor would PWNZR ALL!!!! A flat plane (like Ferarris) crank LT5 w/ high lift cams, an open exhaust and ITBs would be sex...I'm having impure thoughts just at the thought of it all...

But the LSx engines really do pwn all. GM made a Ferarri beater at a Boxster price... flippin crazy. I don't know why people dump on domestics...maybe it's just ignorance.
