I know how to drive. Im 54% through. I picked it back up after 8 months of not playing it and it just wasnt fun having to re-learn the physics and handling characteristics of all the cars I used to be used to. Too much work, not enough fun.

I played 4 and apart from the graphics and the different cars I think I still prefer 3. Hell I still have my original 1 and 2 shoved in the entertainment center somewhere next to my ps2 bass fishing and megaman anniversary games.

Yes I like the fact that I could drive an old Volvo 245 in 4, but perhaps its just the familiarity that breeds bias towards 2 and 3 in my book.

I primarilly play GT2 on my computer... that could be why I like it so much! Instant save and reload makes it so easy... cheating, but still fun!

I dunno, I really like having to work harder in GT4 to get things done. I personally like the realism and it's fun for me. I spent way too many hours on GT3 getting all golds on the licenses, but I didn't care, I enjoyed learning how to get better. I haven't tried to get all golds on GT4 yet. In the end for me personally, I enjoy conquering a tough challenge, even if I did get pissed off cause I missed the time by .001 of a second, lol. I just see it as a chance to get better. I just wish they had a CD5 and/or a CB7 in the game. Not enough Accords and too many Civics!

GT4 with Logitch GT racing wheel = one crazy experience.

my friend just got the wheel too, so now we'll have more of a challenege against each other since we're both at equal levels using the controller and with our own tuned cars.

i like the realism of the game, it's what makes the game challenging. don't get me wrong, GT2 was a great game for ps1 but i would pick GT4 over it in a heartbeat.

                    Ahhh....the Gran Turismo discussion...

Personally, I like GT4 the best, although it took me some time and GameShark to really warm up to it. Enjoying GT is something that comes with practice and time...I'm a really good driver in it, and I can drift or do time attacks like nothing, from setting up the car to actually driving. There were a lot of missed opportunities with both tracks (Willow Springs, some GT2 tracks like Red Rock and Rome Nights) and cars (older BMW's, older Hondas, new Galant VR-4s etc)...basically a lot of fluff. And the physics have a lot more understeer built into them.

However the game feels faster, and it's easier to drive in GT4. I've set up cars with the exact same stuff in GT3 and GT4 and the GT4 cars are a good 2-3 seconds faster around various tracks, as well as more stable/easier to drive. Plus the used car lot thing makes it a lot of fun too.

The only things I really miss about GT2 were the available tracks, the sound quality and the sensation of speed. There were some awesome tracks that got cut out for whatever reason. The engine sounds have yet to be matched by any future GT (ESPECIALLY the BOV sounds), and honestly GT3 felt very, very slow to me. I almost couldn't get jiggy with it...

Anywhoo, if they bring back the GT2 tracks and sounds, as well as have more variation in cars (they claim 500+ cars, but 200 of them are Skylines) they'll have a winner for sure.

I miss the Renault minivan from GT2. And the soundtracks... I agree with that too. Have you noticed how the muscle cars on GT4 sound like they were eaten by a Casio Keyboard and are trying to scream through the monitor?

                        Guys, guys, guys...

                        GT1>GT*

The original...so far ahead of its time...all the Japanese names...not too hard, not too easy (I got all the licenses in GT2 in about a week...I haven't got the last GT license in years of owning the game.)

Plus it does have a CD5.

I think 4 is the best, just because everything came together, and a lot more high speed race cars...
Plus, does anyone do the thing where u buy a car and instantly change the oil, after all the mods.... it gives you a little hp boost... Bad news is you cant do it with the indy car in gt4 =(

on the contrary the cd5(5th gen) was in gt2 (used car lot)the (3rd gen)was in gt4 but no cb in any of them. euros, type r newer gens were in gt2/3/4.

but all in all the best one to drift in was gt3 no doubt i hate the corrective steering gt4 has ruins it...

i miss the used cars option and racing modification from gt2 tho..

thats where everyone here is wrong...

forza motorsport is by far better than both.... at first i didnt think it was gunna be all that, but then i played it, learned it, n now i love it....

the realism isnt toooooo simulation like, u can do motor swaps, turbos, superchargers, etc... as in gt2/3/4, if you turbo a civic, u still cant get out of the 17s..... if anyone has xbox, this game is a must, true it may not have as many cars, but it is the most fun racing game (for ppl who know what parts really do what to a car)
