i took a break after i hit a deer with my JDM front end.. i started thinking about parting out the rest of the front end and etc. but i instead focused my thoughts to other cars and other projects to return later to the accord and salvage my efforts.
in this area of AR. people see all the civics/integ/etc. "jdm'd out" and almost yawn... you see a 15 year old accord with JDM driving around and actually look twice

most of us are probably spending a lot of money to keep these cars running. i have spent my fair share. the idea of getting another car is always present but in reality, i have no intention. my CB is in incredible shape and has had nothing major happen since i have had her. i am in no financial situation to handle a car payment and therefore, regardless of what happens to the CB, it's only temporary. upon fixing it, you still have a car that costs you nothing more than the gas and insurance every month and i am the only one out of my circle of friends that can say that. they may have faster cars that they bought fast and are making faster, but i like the idea of starting from the ground up. wherever my car gets it will be completely my doing and not something i just went out and leased or financed. i also understand that they are heavy cars but damn, unless we are talking the weight of a fucking ford excursion loaded with a soccer mom and an ass load of kids then i think 2800lbs isn't a big deal. so what if the civics and integras weigh less. i never knew what i had until i found this site and saw what an accord could truly be. guys like accordsir, stickeydiljoe, shawnhayden, and a ton of others really make these cars look amazing and make awesome power, making me proud to own one because at the end of the day, there are really not that many accords that would ever make you look twice. it appears that there are a lot of us on this site and of course at our meets, but i can tell you that any and every car event that i go to around town has pretty much me and at most, one other accord. we are few and far between and need to keep these babies alive.
i guess i am done with my argument...

Bottom Line , " PREVENTATIVE MAINTANANCE " he he cant spell it but u understand ... all the people or most of the people i see giving up on these cars dont do things in a normal fashion , everyone wants hott looks and wheels and suspension drops when in reality if 1/2 of those people spent the money and rebuilt the car first then when motor trans clutches cooling system fuel system and things like that are mint THEN you do the Mods , i mean for me i waited til things screwed up and then replaced em , for instance
mid pipe broke so i replaced exhaust front to back , was out of ride for a while but managed
igniter died , in process of finding out what it was replaced coil , main relay, dist. again out of car but all new parts now
front end is getting a little knocky and maybe even loose so im in process of getting complete suspension ready takes me forever to get parts but in all actuallity they are only cars a car new and a car old is still same thing metal and all , Just meaning that if i have my 93 accord and my cuzin has his 05 civic but i replaced almost everything myself and he has a car payment every month who wins by the time he pays for his car he neeeds all the parts that are new or next to new on my ride ,,, SERIOUSLY ? Lets take something from out parents ERA
When people wanted to RESTORE a Camaro or Mustang , they didnt even ask mileage because the whole idea was replace everything , I Cant figure out why not one person in the AUTO scene today says im restoring a Honda , I mean why not , whats so bad about rebuilding a car from ground up , thats my movement anyways ,,,,, Im restoring my 93 Honda accord Slowelly bur surely and adding some performance parts as i go , my motor is gonna be rebuilt top to bottom this spring and with turbo pistons and some nitrous added just cause thats what I want to do BUT doesnt a completelly rebuilt 93 mean the same as a new 05 or 06 everything is new soo whats the difference i mean i understand that i m starting behind the 8 ball but im also getting a car u cant buy in that condition today and I like the body style cause when it was made the car industry wasnt all making the same looking cars , I mean lets face it all cars are going to look the same soon , check out the new subaru it looks like a Civic basically i mean take away lights and things like that and everyone is going on the same basic bubble , i dont know im treating my CB7 like my dad treated his 68 Camaro and my Brother in Law treated his Camaro simply because done right these are the hot rods of our time ...... IMO

The CB7... is the car that I want the most... but can't ever keep...
It all started back in '00 when I had my 5th gen. A buddy of mine had a clean SE CB7 with all the trimmings.... and the body really got to me. Man I wanted one....
I finally got my first CB7 about 4 years ago... '91 EX auto... had it for 3 months, gave it to my girlfriend. Now don't get me wrong. My girl and lived together and still do to this day. We're engaged now too.... but it was no longer my car. Just after lusting for the car for so long, I finally got it, and it lost it's appeal to me.
A year ago I got my second CB7... '93 LX 5spd. After owning it for a while, having big plans for it... I again gave it to my girl. She now has big plans for it too.
I bought another 5th gen now... when it comes in I'll start with it.
I guess the moral of my story is.... I lust for the CB7.... but it loses its meaning once I get it. The CD chassis does something for me.

I AM moving on soon. I've never had any problems w/the car that I didn't bring on myself...but I dunno. The car's just old. When I go over bumps it clunks and rattles, and it's really loud. Not to mention it's a handful in the snow and a little nervous in the rain, even on the new tires. It just feels old...and for what I'd need to make it feel new, I could put into a new car. Not to mention my mom and dad are always like 'why do you keep fixing that car? Just sell it!' and they're making more and more sense each day.
I'm prob. gonna move to a 6th gen or Maxima this summer. It'll be nice to have a map light, power seats, and more room to stretch...not punching my passenger's knee to shift to 5th...possibly having LEATHER...mmm the possibilities. CBs are cool but they're kind of the EFs of Accords...cool if you do them right, but starting to get very old. I can't get jiggy with them.

Our cars are flippin small man...once I was doing my highway thing, and my friend in the PASSENGER seat was like 'yo i can tell how light this car is from here, just by how it moves in turns'...that's something I'll definitely miss; the way the car shrink wraps around me at speed...plus with it lowered, even with softish springs and stock shocks it handles like a beast on the highway. So easy to place...

Just got tired of dumping money into an old car. The CB is a perfectly serviceable platform with excellent manners and great build quality but like others have said the rattles and noises were just getting to be too annoying. Honestly, it was starting to seem like a bit of a tin can.
Anyway, my new car = much quieter, much faster and much better handling stock than my modded CB.
