so why does everyone give up?

Old cars are not for most people.
Strictly a hobby for me. I enjoy working on MY cars and I really like the CB.
My garage is a well equiped shop and when I'm finished every mechanical part of the CB will be new or rebuilt. Finished the H swap this year and it runs sooo good. I'm sitting on 4k+ in parts that will go on in the Spring/Summer with more to come.
I have 3 newer vehicles and injoy driving the CB more than any of them.
It is the smallest car I would feel safe driving on the street.
Oh yea, not giving up here
Take that freek show to the park, maybe the squirrels will care.

#2 most stolen car in the U.S.
shit wears out that has to be replaced, which I do not find delightful to spend alot of money in a car that I bought for $1500 when I was 15

But mostly Im just tired of shit being stolen, Ive already lost over $1k in stolen stuff + whatever it cost me to fix the car again

I love my CB. But I consider myself more of an enthusiast than a racer.

I plan on hanging on to my CB for a long time, and reliability is my primary concern. The CB has that, it looks good, it's easy to work on when/if something breaks, and I feel like I know it in and out.
I doubt I'll engine swap it, because I feel like I have a lot of life left in this engine and I know the Accord isn't the fastest thing on the road. A guy with a '68 Mustang with a 289 could swap in a 429 cobra jet and be hella fast, but he doesn't because his 289 with some light mods makes decent power, and it's the original motor, and he's happy with that fact. I feel the same way about my F22A.

My Accord is fun, it looks good, and the fact that I know I made it a better performer than it was before is enough for me to be satisfied. It's not the best out there now but hell, how will the current generation Accord stack up to one 15-18 years from now?

Stacking a CB7 up next to something like an SRT4 or STi isn't really a fair comparison anyway. Run it against a 93 Camry 4 cylinder and we'll see what happens.

Slowly turned into problem after problem after problem. Got a promotion at my old job and thought, Hey why not get a newer car with a warranty so I dont have to worry about it and ill keep stock, no lowering or anything

Well got a new car with a 5 year 100k bumper to bumper warranty... I gave in and fixed it up a tad, nothing too crazy though

from what get said to me, "why are you wasting money on an old car", "just buy a new car", "your not going to get that money back if you sell it" i have gotten these statements from family or friends and you know what i reply to them

i say "i love my car"!!!!!!!!! for real this is no joke...... and maybe thats why i dont have a girlfriend yet! its my own flaw.

i can admit that i dont waste money on this car, i invest in it.

the day i get the car out of the body shop all done up right i will cry my eyes out, from the joy.. showing others and proving them who i am and what i do

                        sincerely
Maury--- the guy with no girl and that has a sentimental feeling for my car

ha 2 months after this statement I got with a girl... We are still together presently and I now have 2 modified cbs...

Proud of my never ending modifying/investing cbs.

....... havent given up nor thought about it.........

My girl actually outsmarted me about my car one time when i had a funny boostleak. Shes into cars too she has an audi but i dont really care too much for those cars. And she has a certification in mechanics so im covered.

I felt it was time to move on...i had dumped a very considerable amount of money through time, R&D (Meaning i found tolerances to different parts by breaking shit), and upgrades. I had fun doing what i was doing, but i needed reliability and unfortunately, my financial means had grown and my tolerance had lowered. Priorities dictate what I can do with my cars now. I have a house that i prefer to mod now because at least it shows value and return in it.
