Yea peeps shouldn't complain about maintenance. I actually look forward to oil changes and replacing tires/brake pads and stuff, because the feeling of relief I get when the car is back in tip top shape PWNS...

...but...there are a lot of age related problems I just don't want to deal with, that I'll probably have to to sell the car. The A/C doesn't work. The right brake lights don't work. I've had more camber on the right side than the left side in front for as long as I can remember. There's a rattling coming from the right rear suspension that NOBODY can pinpoint. My last tank of gas averaged a solid 18mpg. And it's not like I skimp out...I just replaced all 4 of my tires, I've replaced the clutch, the radiator, and some other things...

But it's not cool to me anymore. Plus when I think of all the stuff CB's DON'T have that I wouldn't mind having (map lights, power seats, more room) I'm less and less enthused about the CB. And on top of that, the longer I keep the car, odds are the more money I'll have to put into it and the less money I'll be able to sell it for. I'll be very lucky if I get $2K for the car, and that's with everything at 110%.

Don't get me wrong...I love the CB chassis; it's a very fun car to drive and it's a good compromise between comfort and performance. Plus with the EX the moonroof and power everything is not at all a bad deal. But everything must come to an end.

I cuurently have a 96 honda civic coupe and a 93 accord lx.To be honest with you the civic sort of feels like a chick car and I hate it because it's not as tough as my cb.And it's giving me more problems than my 93 accord with 214k.Moral of the story is I will never buy a civic.
Project EP hatch on the way

Amen to that. Hell, my car was blew all the foam seals in the air box out through the vents (the air box under the dash that directs air to the different vents).

And some things are just terribly impractical to fix...squeeks and rattles that were driving me nuts.

The CB is a great platform...but like most things it was showing its age after 14 years even though it was in excellent shape mechanically.

I don't plan to move on- when I get another car it'll be in addition to my CB. I'm sorry but the only reason the Civic and Integra are more popular is that everyone has them. Because every one wants to modify them they get more aftermarket parts developed for them. When I went to look for a car I told myself I was NOT going to buy a Honda because everyone has them and I am not one to be like everyone else. Then I found the CB and realized that no one really tuned them, and if that fact wasn't individual enough there was the really rare wheels and the sunroof. So I have fallen in love with these cars. Everyone that is leaving seems like they are looking for a sissy way out: "It's too hard to keep running", "I can't find aftermarket parts for my car, so I am going to buy a car that has an assload of parts available to make it easy", " I am going to buy a car that is already fast so I don't have to do any work on it". Those people, IMO, are not true auto enthusiasts, they are just looking for a status symbol. The true guys would be down to their elbows in grease, looking forward to the rush they get when their car will run perfectly down the road or beat an S2000 or EVO in an 13-16 year old Accord, knowing they did the work themselves.

So you guys will have me around for a good long time.

LOL, what? So do you plan on driving a Cee Bee in the year 2020? 2030? While I like the CB and the peeps on this forum at the end of the day it's just a car...I didn't pledge any allegiance or take any oath when I got it...yea it sucks when people dump the cars cause of silly little things, but ultimately they're 13-16 year old cars...be logical man.

Read my post. I may not be driving it in 2030, but I'll still have it.

When I go over bumps it clunks and rattles, and it's really loud. Not to mention it's a handful in the snow and a little nervous in the rain, even on the new tires. It just feels old...and for what I'd need to make it feel new, I could put into a new car. Not to mention my mom and dad are always like 'why do you keep fixing that car? Just sell it!' and they're making more and more sense each day.

I'm prob. gonna move to a 6th gen or Maxima this summer. It'll be nice to have a map light, power seats, and more room to stretch...not punching my passenger's knee to shift to 5th...possibly having LEATHER...mmm the possibilities. CBs are cool but they're kind of the EFs of Accords...cool if you do them right, but starting to get very old. I can't get jiggy with them.
                          Lol

                          4th gen Maximas are butt

Though I don't plan on being in this car by 2010... BB6 or more preferably an E36 328iS hopefully by this summer

Needed money for medical bills + wanted to do a CB build + wasnt feelin the Maxima

If I could do it again, I would have talked that dude w/the 93 EX 2dr auto coupe down to 1,000... NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER buy a modified CB, or car in general, unless u know the person took care of it.

the phrase preventative maintenance goes a long way with older cars like CB's.

everyone tells me to get rid of my car...their reasons:

                                1. its too old
                                2. there is too much to fix
                                3. don't bother.

                                f! that.
the reasons I keep my car:

                                1. its too old: thus it has no value to lose. When I buy a new car, all I am doing is paying for its depreciation.

                                2. there is too much to fix: great, now I can replace all those parts with better parts.

                                3. don't bother: not many people like to bother with old cars and that makes a good example rare and quite special.

                                4. CB7tuner is a great community.
