    Linux

Alrighty well i have a spare pc and am trying to install linux on it. Im using a linux called MEPIS cause its free and supposedly the most user friendly. So I burn it to a disc and set the bios to boot from the cd. Loads up but asks for a mepis1 login: so i type in my name then it asks for a password so i make up a password. But wat i type doesn't show up on the screen, doesn't have the little astrics or nothin. Any body got any ideas?
    Thanks

I would suggest ubuntu..depends on the pc's specs...fedora is easy...gentoo is badass but hard...slackware isn't too hard and runs well on old hardware...

i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.
