i totally agree but knock offs are so dumb...even tho they are getting good at replicating them. but a true JDM enthusiast would never buy knock-offs!

Yea I true idiot would spend $123,812 on JDM parts only to have it stolen once they hit up a mall/movie theater/public parking.

Rock what you like. Don't try to pass off fakes for the real deal, and you're golden.

I bet those are cheaper than real JDM ones. If the quality is par, than more power to the consumer.

Capitalism at its finest. Besides if the quality is not par, it will probably still put downward pressure on the market because a lot of the people buying JDM stuff for the look and the ability to say it is JDM, will start buying it because they can still claim it to be JDM, and spend less. That will reduce demand on the actual stuff, causing prices to come down for those who are looking for the extra quality or authenticity.

i like some JDM things but shit like the 200.00 lip spoiler........fuck that, it's a $75 object in all reality...........

the headlight aren't so bad at around $200 because used USDM headlights and corners are not far off from that price.........

but as long as people think they're cool because of what they own, there will always be knock offs of fad items........and fad items selling for twice what they're worth
                    Basically...

People will be people, I guess it's kinda like what a girl would do when she buys are purse, she can buy gucci or buy a knock off gucci and pretend she has the real thing.

ehhhh, I rock a few JDM "style" parts and I'll be the first to admit it, I'm building my car off ebay, sometimes I get the goods and sometimes I get the "style" a car is a matter of opinion everyone is going to build it differently and personally I could care less about visual parts that are jdm "style" if it looks good I'll rock it, now performance wise, I won't rock shit that isn't quality.

JDM is cool if it's what you're going for. We have a few members that are trying their damndest to replicate the Japanese Accord part for part. Those people are just as respectable as kit-car builders, show car builders, and even racers... If you're building it for a purpose, then more power to you. However, if you're like me, it doesn't matter that much. I have my JDM headlights because I got a good deal on them. I have my JDM H22A because it's supposed to have fewer miles than a USDM motor. I have a set of JDM sidemarkers, only because they were given to me. Paying $25 for a used, expired JDM parking sticker is stupid in my eyes... but if a true JDM enthusiast sees it as being an important part of their puzzle, that could be a steal!

As for the knockoffs... the actual topic of this thread... I think they're great for people who don't take the JDM thing seriously. If you get a quality copy of a JDM part for your car, then what harm is there? As long as you don't go around saying "look at my JDM car!" I don't see an issue! I'd rather spend $50 on a pair of fog lights and $150 on something else I want than $200 on JUST a pair of fog light! It's a question of purpose vs. preferance.
