10 Month Jobs Suck..

So as the title says I am a 10 month employee at the NC Zoo. I am a Park Ranger to go ahead and get that out of the way, before someone asks me if I scoop shit. I picked up my last paycheck today. It was a whole $328.xx, and I took my gf out to eat tonight and then when I got home I spent the rest of it on new tires for my accord. That was $259 shipped to my door, and good deal that I could not pass up (set of 215/45/17 Kumho Estca 711 from www.tirerack.com). So now my next paycheck wont come until March when I go back to work. Its gonna suck not having money but I guess I'll be like my lil sis and live off of mom and dad for a month or two. Sorry for the long post but I had to vent a little.

Anyone else on here in a 10 month position?

i have a 3 month position. doing college isnt easy and tryint to do shit to the car, play college baseball and have a gf at the same time..i only work in the warehouse during the summer makin 8 and hour driving a forklift all day, so i know what its like not having any money!!

hah im making 7$ an hour working at kmart...i was hired for seasonal...so i should have been laid off by now but they kept me!...but its slow so im making about 1/4 less then what i usually make

i understand that!! i work at my moms company but not for her..so i dont get paid as much as i want since she doesnt own the company..o well, its better than $6.25 and hour at arbys!

And why the hell did you get Kumho Ecsta 711s? They have to be the WORST tires produced by a reputable company... ever. I guess new crap is better than worn out old though, right?

what state are you in? i know that here in ky, when you are on a state funded position like that, you are entitled to unemployment benefits during your months off period. i dont know if its like that there, but its at least worth looking into.

and i just saw its nc that you live in, maybe its close enough in geography to be the same/similar.

I think many state jobs are like that... who knows though. If it's a set 10 month period you're signing up for, and not signing up for next year, then it's a start to finish deal, I would think.

The first set of tires on my 17's were the Kumho 711's...I didnt have a problem with them then so thats what I went with this time..and for $55 per tire it was a good deal for me...

BTW...I just do some spirited driving from time to time..nothing extreme..so why spend $*** on tires that will wear out faster than these?

I work only 8 or 9 months out of the year(10 bucks an hour btw) and collect unemployment for the other 3 or 4 months.

G/F are really expensive! We used to go out to eat every 16th of the month (the date we started dating) and we would usually spend $50 at Carrabbas, plus I would get her roses from a florist (not those cheap ass roses) which would be another $50.

I have a 12 month/yr job that has benefits and pays me $15/hr to sit in front of a computer all day in an air conditioned room. I have a mini lava lamp to the left of my monitor and a USGS map of Yellowstone on the wall to my right. I have 7 filing cabinets full of paperwork and crap that I have to deal with on a daily basis and my eyeballs turn square from looking at a monitor all day long. Whee.
