    g16a suzuki motor rebuild.

I have been working on this motor for a bit now, and i've finally been able to get to the motor some more. Last night I started putting back in the valves. I'm having a little trouble getting the new valve seals in. I guess it just comes down to i dont know how to do those properly. This will be my first valve job that i've done on a motor. The motor got a new crank cause the last one got twisted rather bad. So it has new bearings and a crank. It's getting a complete gasket set from Gasketpro.com. They had the full set for like 76 dollars shipped! A prelude is about 110 (that is my next project is putting a b20a5 into a a20a1 car. I still gotta get all the wires and fuel tank and stuff to get it to work. That is going to take some crazy fab stuff cause i'll have to cut in a bunch of wires and all. too bad i just cant switch the computer like the cb7 and the 93 lude. I've dont a carb to efi before but i had 2 accords to work with. Hopefully most everything is the same. )

but that's a bit off course of what i'm doing. (i'm a bit honda oriented i guess) I'm also having a little bit of problems getting that head as clean as i'd like it. I guess some tips on doing head work would be appreciated. I've rebuilt my motor but i just put new gaskets on my head..nothing big. I like doing this valve job stuff it's kinda fun. One quick question on the head though is when i'm done can i just put in spark plugs put the head up side down and fill the cavity's with oil..would that test for leaks? or what would be a good way? I dont want them to have valve problems cause we reubuilt a nissan motor (same family) and the valves were bad and we just decided to use them any way..well with the new rings it finished off those valves!..hehehe. oh well ya live you learn.
