How to burn videos to watch on TV?

Ok so i recently recieved a movie split in 2 parts in .AVI file. They play on real player now. I have a dvd burner and blank dvd's, so how would i go about burning it so i can watch it on tv?

you would have to convert to mpeg and burn them onto DVD+R's I do believe.
