if you do that you run into spyware, limewire.exe > all > Norton Anti-Virus 2005, then see what comes up, you can usually tell which is legit.

trust me i know this, i learned the hard way.

You could also buy Norton Systemworks from any one of these vendor's http://castle.pricewatch.com/s/searc...on+systemworks and have a legit licence. (Norton Anti-Virus comes on the Systemworks CD, and you get the bonus of the other Systemworks programs).

Oh, BTW. Norton is a peice of shit program that no one should ever use. www.freeav.com and www.adaware.com is all you ever need, even if you do many things that involve bad websites :P

I've never heard of freeav.com, but if you're looking to go the freeware route, I'd recommend www.grisoft.com - here's the free link to download (it's what I run on all of my PCs) http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5

another free antivirus program: Avast! http://avast.com/

but, I prefer Kaspersky Antivirus Personal... takes very little resources

ZoneAlarm OWNZ all!! its a firewall, virus/spyware protector, im protector, it updates everyday, and when it scans, it uses 1/4 of the power that Norton uses when its scanning, so that you can still do whatever you want.

best of all, i can get it for free, for anyone, just pm me

I wouldn't recomend norton. I work for an ISP and we have more issues with norton being a pile of crap than anything else. If you still want to find a key go to serials.ws they should have it.

AVG fuckin' sucks. If it finds a virus, it has a tendency to remove the bad executables and other related files, and THAT'S IT. It'll leave the registry entries and anything else in place, leaving you with the task of manually removing them. It's easy to do, but that's not a complete solution. There are other issues with it as well.

Norton isn't terrible, but I still don't like it. And fuck McAfee, their virus definition files aren't complete. SAVCE > *. It's not that hard to find.
