...you're not in/away at school, there aren't any you like at your job, and all the ones you went to school with are either away at grad schools or working? I'm trying to get over a break up and get some new...friends and it's tough, cause I don't really like any of the girls I know like that and I'm not really a cold-call 'hey how YOU DOIN' kinda guy. Is it all about networking now?

I've been thinking about signing up for MySpace, but even that's eh...I think my ex has made me very picky.

I feel your pain. When I find a good place I'll let u know dude. I go to clubs, I'm on myspace and even a dateing site, and have yet to meet a descent woman. It's good to be picky though usually means u are getting a little more mature and are looking for someone to spend quality time with.

i wouldnt recomend the online thing. it may work 4 others but not 4 me. but ne wayz. try goin out of town and hang out wit some friends(my seem immature) at the mall, movies, or just chill somewhere. i kno ur friends hav some female fthey would introduce u 2. and dont mention ur just tryin 2 get over a break up. no girl wants 2 b a back up or somethin just 2 help some1 get over some1

And yea obviously I'm not gonna mention that to them...I dunno though man, I'm 22, it seems a little childish to be hanging out in malls chasing girls. I need a buddy in the city to hit up lounges and bars with. That's where my kind of woman goes to unwind...

man honestly I meet girls....but I'm straight forward and honest that I don't want a relationship. you gotta start from the bottom again playa. Talk to the ones you don't want to so that way you get your network started back up and then the ones u wanna talk to will come around. DOn't feel like ya doing it by yaself man it's hard to find one that's on point, and don't go and lower your standards you'll regret it!

Don't worry dude, you're still young. Try being in your situation at 34, when all your friends are married, or just not your friends anymore. Impossible. And the whole online dating thing is just stupid. I havn't dated anyone in 4 years now. I can only try and be optimistic for so long. I give up. When you're a guy without an outgoing personality, and you can't dance, there is no chance.

Nah man, if I had a real job and an apt., meeting the ladies wouldn't be a prob., esp. in NYC. Maybe I just have to wait until I'm in the financial position to be a more eligible bachelor...

LOL well in that case If I see em I go and talk to em other than that unless we somehow just bump into eachother I dont bother. But there are some instances you just gotta get them into a convo whether its in a verbal dispute and ask their personal opinions. From there you can see if they are interested by the way they talk answer questions form inteligence or if they are just plain stupid. I say it takes all kinds and that you have to literally let them hang themselves fromt he comments that they make.

Clubs, malls, anywhere.. I have a large amount of female friends and whenever there's a meet somewhere or whatever.. I'm really open with the girls. I act goofy and it seems to attract them.

Just gotta be open with girls.. if you see an attractive one at the mall working somewhere at your favorite clothing store, then ask for her number and work your game.

thats the problem right there.. can't be scared or shy. the worse thing that can happen is she ignores/rejects you; there are plenty of others. gotta step up your game, and be confident. there are women all over the NYC area
