man i just got done watching the rally of france. ralling is fucking awesome! kinda makes me wish i got an AWD car instead of a FF car with no where near 50 50 balance... anyways they were talking about the brakes, and after every stage they swapped out these huge ass brakes, and eight piston calipers. the guy was also talking about the wiring that they use in those cars is the same that they use for spaceships. the cars have 2 miles of these high tech wires, and it runs about $35,000 per car... so anyways i was wondering if you guys liked WRC and what types of other insane technologies are incorporated in these cars that you guys now about

Yea and electronic differentials too. The Ferarri F430's whole style is based on Ferarri's F1 whips...
VTEC was NOT created from F1 technology; Honda just made it to try and get the most performance and fuel economy as possible from a small engine. Think about it...when do F1 cars spend any time below ~8,000 RPM? They get pushed out of the pits and towed of the track if they stall...

(f1)
(porsche)
gearboxes
(f1,panel gearbox)
(f430)
anything carbon fiber, general tech. (motor stuff). tires to a degree b/c they bring the knowledge learned into making a better tire. But really anything on a race car gets put into a street car. at sometime. like truck parts basiclly are baja trucks from a few years ago. they take the same parts can beat the hell out of them in the desert.
