interesting conversation with lady about eggs

So i was in the local store picking up my normal 2 dozon of eggs for $1.04 each. And along comes a lady who mutters

Lady: your supporting chickens being tortured you know, you should buy the free range eggs
me: oh, i never heard about this, what do you mean?
lady: well if you buy these free range eggs, the chickens aren't stuck in crates all their lives and can run around, plus these eggs are more healthy for you. and it doesn't even cost much more
me: oh ok, thanks for the info

So i thought, why not support the cause if it only cost a few cents more.
Free range dozen eggs = $3.50

I care about animals a lot, but not that much about chickens
