Isn't the Galant VR-4 very similar in size? (Jason, get the measuring tape out!)
I had the idea of using VR-4 parts. The 4G63 is mounted transversely (is that a word? ) just like the Honda engines, so as long as it turns the right way, I don't see why an adapter plate couldn't be made for that as well. The transfer case is already capable of handling a lot of power. The biggest project once you got it all hooked up would be fitting the driveshaft. Major floor modifications would be needed, as the CB7 floor has no place for it to run.

There was an AWD F series accord produced in Japan. I believe some of the wagons had it if I'm not mistaken. Even tho it's AWD, the engine is still mounted the same as the FWD. The trans also hold the differential/viscous coupling/etc. and has an area for you to plug a driveshaft in for the RWD portion while the FWD portion is the same setup in our current Accords. I looked into having an AWD wagon imported a few years ago and the responses I got was that they can get one but didn't want to ship it due to how small the profit margin is on it. So I from what I gathered it does exist. Question is...is it worth buying a JDM AWD wagon only to chop it up and use some parts of it? Is it worth modiying the undercairrage, sub-crossmember, all te exhaust, rear sus., etc. to fit the RWD portion? It is possible but is it worth it? As Mr. Honda said, the AWD isn't really gonna help you at the drag strip or for most daily driving conditions, but in the event of bad weather or little traction, the AWD could be a lifesaver.
