if a camera has a "manual" setting, does that mean everything is manual? i see some saying, manual exposure, manual focus, etc.

one thing i noticed with my camera, is that everything is auto, and i dont like that. pretty much, no matter how i take the pic, everything is in focus. i want to be able to manually focus on a specific object, which would then cause the resulting background to blur. someone said thats done with manual aperture. what are the actual options i need to do that? or is it like i asked before, if a camera has a manual mode... everything is adjustable.

Pretty much. Any mid-range camera should have manual exposure controls. Manual focusing doesn't work too well with P&S cameras....really need a DSLR or similar for that.[I]
