hi as you guys know i want to be a skillfull mechanic after graduating high school..
What i was wondering if wyotech is a good school.. well the instructors be able to tell me whats a combustion, how it works.. internal parts of an engine and what each does.. How does a piston move up and down.. OR will i be in a garage all day getting hand on experience and thats it.. I mean the instructor just can't say okay the fuel pump stop working.. guys replace the fuel pump.. they can't just tell you to do something without you know how a fuel pump works or what it connects to.. My main concern is not the hand on experience.. but since my mechanical skills aren't proficent.. i'm scared that i won't be able to learn the basics, since everything is hands on. I wish and hope that we have a couple of classes before we start touching anything.. Anyone have any good feedback about wyotech or has any friends/relatives that done wyotech and is successful. I know every school is different and in different states so nothing is the same but give me some ideas of whats involved.
OR does anybody think i should go to a 2 year college and earn an associate degree?
Take a look at some of the courses in this school? http://www.bfit.edu/academics/automo...chnology_1.php
I think those course will teach me alot more... but that school is roughly 30,000 for the 2 years and thats the cost without books purchase.
Plus in that school i don't see any course that shows me i'll be in a garage working, or are those AC, manual tranny, steering/suspension courses just a class that meets in the garage and do basic what the course is about..
Like for instance it say course number blah blah is Chassis & Brakes is that a classroom where i'll learn about brakes or is that a garage where we get to work on brakes.. or what about course number xxx is manual tranny.. is that a classroom fill with students that learn about manual tranny or again is that a garage where we get to work on manual tranny throughout the day?
HELP ME GUYS OR ANYONE THAT HAVE EXPERIENCES WITH SCHOOLS LIKE THESE.
