    laptop help

    hey guys... my laptop isn't charging... when you stick the plug in the whole it says "ac power type can not be determinded, this will prevent optimal system performance" or something like that, and all it does it just run off the ac power it doesn't charge, i've tried changing the power properties and stuff like that and still nothing, i'm thinking maybe the battery? got any ideas?
    oh and btw, its a dell insprion 9100... and dont be like "oh its a dell thats your problem" just try to help me out please lol

    call customer service, that's what Dell's famous for. If you pay me enough I'll bitch to them in person since they're based out of Austin

      do you run it off of ac alot? if so it could hav fried your battery. becuase mine used 2 do that so i had to buy a new bat.

        ya i do... i leave it on 99% of the time... and its almost always on the AC power...

          try tying the power cord in diffrent positions,my friends laptop does the same thing, but when we prop the cord just right it works again, it might just be that the ac plug port is malfunctioning, try that before you buy a new battery.

            ya i had the wire thing happen to me before so i did get a new one... but this one i've changed to like 10 different plugs so i dunno

              it's not the plug it self, it was the port in the laptop i was talking about,my friend also tryed a new plug but it turned out to be the port.

                You may have the wrong adapter. One of the other residents here has an inspiron 4100 and I have the 9300. I tried using her power adapter once and I got that exact same message you described. I'd suggest finding out if you have the right adapter.
