use THIS to DL stuff

hey all. what do you use to DL stuff nowadays. I've been outta the loop for a few months & im just wondering.

I've been using Limewire for a few years, but the newest version has all the copyright warnings that are bit scary. Everytime you wanna DL something it pops up with warning about local copyright laws!

So what do you use?

but anyways, i use a program called Ares/AresLite. either one, they are both the same except Lite is easier on your computer memory

well, im lookin more for software, etc as opposed to songs. songs are easy to find. i've noticed that in the past few months limewires content has dimished by a large amount.

yup, ares or areslite is both good. even though sometimes it won't connect when i need it most. but that's technology for ya

just use bearshare...its pretty much the same thing as limewire, but less problems..i like it, really good for mp3's and large files...

Bearshare has spyware crap in it... not good...

Before you go with ANY download program, I would suggest getting Microsoft's antispyware program. It'll make sure you don't open yourself up to more than you plan on!


I use Bit Torrent, and I get my torrents from www.isohunt.com. I find just about all I need there. I use KazaaLite sometimes (for individual songs it's best). I don't think it's easy to find online anymore... I also go to www.packetnews.com and use what I find there to download using MIRC (thanks [mike]!)
