          hehe

but if a fight what is the best way to win? meaning say you know you are going to fight and they are about your size maybe a bit bigger. what should you be thinking....get them on the ground to submit them, start aiming for the head, pressure points, etc. etc.

Each style has it's strengths and weaknesses... I've heard so many arguments about the "best" style. I went to highschool with a girl that studied Wing Chun... Said it was by far the best style out there. She always talked trash to me, saying how she could beat me in a fight. This was before I studied ANYTHING! So, one day I told her to take her best shot. I had her pinned in about 45 seconds...

The point I'm weakly trying to make with my story of beating up a girl is: It all depends on the fighter. Certain styles may be advantagous over others (a grappler can take a pure striker if they can get them on the floor) but in the end, the best fighter wins. If you master ANY style, you'll most likely win in a confrontation with someone that isn't as proficient, even if they're skilled in a style that can take advantage of your weakness.

From my experience, the best is a mix of everything. If you are competent at striking, grappling, and evading (I guess Aikido is good for that...) then you'll have your bases covered!

So true! That's one of the reasons I liked grappling so much. I think I've made the chess comparison before myself.

It's amazing how many people DON'T know how to fight on the ground... I only have a little training, and I feel I have a considerable advantage over someone with no training. When it comes to finding openings while in a grappling position, size and strength aren't as important as an understanding of what's going on. If he knows what to look for, a 150lb guy can take out a taller, stronger 250lb guy.

i was certified in the army as a level 1 jui jitsu trainer...its just a one week class..where they teach you some armbars and chokes.@ ft benning and various grappling..one intresting part of the class is when they strap on boxing gloves and they try to beat the ish out of you...this is to teach you how to get your opponent down..and stay out of reach of the boxer...this guy beat my ass like rocky.well not that bad..but he laid a few good hits..then i finally got the dude down ..i had to represent my unit <75th rgr rgt> then some other dude got knocked out..and this scaredy cat behind him..walked out the classroom and nver came back.... good stuff..i want to take more classes out here in the civy world but i have been busy..but yeah jui jitsu is pretty brutal..especially the rear naked chokes...thats why i never have fear of big guys..i know i can move quick get behind them..and take there lights out without throwing a punch. i did it once but this guy deserved it....plus i let him go early...and he collapsed to the ground..balled up..and started gasping for air...haha..memories...ginkgo biloba brings back memories.
