Well, when your budget allows you $13/week to live off of, and you have to spend that $13 on gas, you're pissed.

its not reading them that is annoying its that theres so many on the same exact subject.....your a mod why dont u merge them or delete the others...theres only 1 needed imo......maybe find a better paying job....or get another job i have 2 jobsd and go to school......no excuses gas prices are what they are why post everytime they go up.? it just boggles my mind that mods get pissed about post whoring yet allow all these useless threads to lfoat around. doesnt make sense....

i have red all about how hard u work im previous posts and how u help pay bills and what not...i do the same and pay all my bills and still afford to have fun and go to school. i dont want this to turn into another oprah thread so im done here if u like all kinds of posts on the same subject the so be it...have fun. but for the last time gas prices will go up for weaks than go back to normal....nothing special about it and its not hard to understand....but by all means keep the threads going and going.......clutter is what mods clean up not us...

Actually you are missing the point... this isn't some reguler pattern that happened before, this nation is in a rather importunate fuel crisis. As more gas station runs out or quits buying fuel, make fuel scarce....which in turns raises the prices. This creates problems as society depends on fuel which hurts our economy, which could put our country into depression.There's nothing wrong with having a thread that give us an idea what fuel prices are across the country, in fact...if the mods don't care, there's nothing wrong with 15 threads.

It takes approximately 60 dollars to fill up my tank and thats REGULAR gas mind you. So yeah with an 8.25 an hour part time job it aint cuttin it.

We have plenty of refineries... hell, I can see the lights from 3 of them from my bedroom window at night!

W isn't responsible for the gas prices. Perhaps the war has some influence, perhaps the storm in the south has some influence, perhaps the oil suppliers know that we THINK the prices will go up because of those things and see the astronomical profit potential. Just think about it. Every fraction of a cent increase is LOTS of money in the pockets of the suppliers. It jumped about 75 cents in the past few months... If you took the extra profit from that increase alone and distributed it amongst the members of this board... we would all probably be set for life! OR... perhaps our oil supplies, at least those we've found, are lower than we know. How many of us are truly aware of the condition of the world's oil supply?

Anyway, regardless of the cause, which can be guessed at but not officially determined, gas prices are high. It sucks, but that's what it is.

I've been trying to think of something that can be done about it... There really is nothing! I mean, if we try to organize a mass boycott on gas, those who participate will fill up before the boycott, and fill up again after. It would shift the profit band, not eliminate it. We could try to contact the government, fuel producers, oil refineries, oil producers (anyone speak arabic?)... but they would all probably pass the blame onto one of the others in the chain. In a situation like this "nobody" is responsible for it.


Personally... I'm seriously considering buying a motorcycle I'd love to make an electric cycle with a solar powered charging station... pull it into the garage, charge up the bike, and I'm good to go! Imagine if there were large-scale charging stations to replace gas stations... Just pull up and pump your bike full of sunlight

Were not running out of oil. The problem is that a lot of our refineries are down and so are a lot of pipelines, thanks to lil miss Katrina.

The lowest gas price I found here in TN so far is 2.71 a gallon still way to f**kin' high.Some places are gouged to the sky saw one station charging 3.51 a gallon here.
