And what does the corner sensor do?

That switch would be an EDM headlight switch to adjust the level of your headlights. A requirement in Europe.

The corner sensor switch activates a sensor on the rear bumper to tell you how close you are to an object. Sedans came with bumper poles front and back; wagons had bumper poles in the front and the sensor in the rear, due to the rear of the wagon blocking view of a rear bumper pole.
