i have a 92 ex right now that is my baby and have been fixing up for a while and want to go h22 but its an auto so i dont know if its worth it....but then i found a 92 lx for 800..i know it has some clutch problems but if i am planning on going 5 speed h22 turbo i will need a new clutch anyways so im wondering if i should buy the 5 speed for 800 and use it for a project car or continue to mod my auto ex and do the auto h22 swap in that? i know it basically comes down to what i want to do, so please just give your opinions on what you would personally do..thanks guys for all the help....

Honestly, a auto to manual swap will probably cost more in the long run. You could end up just staying with h22 auto but whats the fun in that?
IMO you should buy the 5spd lx for 800 and go from there. Hell even if you wanted to you could use your auto car for parts and then possibly sell the shell or whatever. I have heard of many horror storries from people doing auto<>manual conversions and some regret doing it at all...do it right the first time and save yourself some $$$ .No more cb7, 7 years of ownership and 196K on the ticker before she was sold
Current beast: 98 ej8 on 7psi with a 15g turbo and other goodies!

If the rest of the car is in decent shape, I say go for it. Having a project car makes life easier anyway! Not to mention that the average cost for a 5 speed conversion is about $600-$800... hell, even if you decide to scrap the car and just convert your current one, you'll have everything you need there. You could just part out the $800 car and scrap or sell the shell.
